I think he considers that his character is being tested.   He has probably laid down the law about never again will I pay a manager compensation but fell into the elephant trap dug by whoever thought the four year contract was a good idea.

The thing at the moment is there is no debate, if we keep Lambert in charge we will go down. Therefore it's a really easy decision to make and it must be made. Relegation under this ownership could mean a permanent decline at the club.

I listened to TalkSport earlier, finally he's been rumbled by the media.  Good analysis of Lambert's reign along the lines of........

Bought young, untried and hungry - FAILED
Tried counter attacking - FAILED
Tried possession football - FAILED
8 of his transfer buys are loaned out
His loans in are benched
His only goal scoring threat, benched
His best centre back and 2nd most valuable player, benched
In 3 years breaks unwanted records week after week after week

Overall, he's a dismal, deluded failure.

Think his faith in Okore and Clark over Vlaar has been justified in the main. No doubt Vlaar will come back in but I'd be more than happy if Okore/Clark were our regular duo again next season...in the top division. Okore's mistakes last night, the first particularly, reminded me of Vlaar at QPR.

Didn't agree with Benteke not starting last night but....he has been a disgrace of late

The results warrant an immediate change but no point pretending there is a crew of superstars unfairly on the bench

I didn't realise 8 of his own buys were loaned out. That is damning.

I don't know.  Vlaar (World Cup finalist), Sanchez (shone at the World Cup), and Benteke would get in to most teams below 6th in the league and yet all were on the bench last night.  If we were winning games then you'd have a point but Lambert's results hardly justify his bizarre decisions.

Did he say last night that we'd still be playing possession football but would be trying to win "ugly"?

I actually don't think Randy would blink at paying Lambert off if he thought it was the right decision. Unfortunately, I think he thinks things will improve.

Big, big error of judgement.

From what he said in the email to Fear, Randy has basically washed his hands of all things Villa and expects Tom Fox to run the club and make the decisions.

Yes, the email was as pathetic as his running of the club. The going got tough and he flounced out in double quick time with Colonel Blinky in tow.

Fuck off Lambert! You're a absolute disgrace! Any decent Manager would've resigned by now with a "record" like  that. Just go!!!

That response to Jon Fear was so so sad. A pathetic man you are Randy Lerner.

I don't believe Fox has any more say in it than the tea lady

Does that response appear anywhere on another thread? If so, which one please.

Ok so there's Steer, Bennett, Luna, Sylla, Tonev and Helenius.

Who are the other two?

Also, Steer has been loaned out for experience, so wouldn't be fair to count him.
