I'd be interested to hear from the 5 people who voted not to sack Lambert.

What's their motivation?

I can only assume that they believe Lerner could hire someone who could do even worse than the current incumbent, Terry Connor style.

Based on recent previous hires they may have a point.

Thing is, statistically, it is nigh-on impossible to do a worse job, so almost anyone could take it on. And even if we still went down, we might make a fight of it.

Even if he stays we will win a game. It might just be 1 game but we will. Even the 86/87 side twatted West Ham 4-0 for the only win of the season after Boxing Day.

You're probably right about 1 fluke win. By my reckoning we only realistically have 10 games to get 16-18 points that we'll need to avoid the drop. We will get zero points at Man Utd, Man City & Spurs. The fact that we've only taken 12 points from the last 63, seriously, can anyone see us getting 18 points from the last 39 available? Another unwanted record; lowest scorers after 25 Premier League games ever....

I'd take Charlie Sheen playing Topper Harley.

I'd take Martin Sheen playing Topper Headon.
I'd take Mr Sheen. He'd brighten the place up a bit, after the dust had settled.

I reckon we'd definitely start "Winning!" if we appoint a bloke called Sheen.

I'd be more confident if we replaced Lambert with a tub of lard.

You'll laugh but I have been checking in all morning expecting something to happen to the manager but all I find is you lot wittering on.

Say what you like but some of us still retain a small glimmer of hope...

I'm not one but perhaps the fact there is no viabel alternaitive?? How is out there and who would really want to be under Lerner's employ? it's all too depressingly ineviatble that we have been fatally holed below the waterline and now we are sinking - fast - and no-one can save us.

I haven't voted but that would be a valid argument. If we stay up then it's potentially a good job for someone in the summer, if we go down then it is still a good job but perhaps for a different man; at present it is only attractive to the desperate.

At last people are begining to realise LEARNER is the biggest problem.A half decent owner would have sacked him by now!

Well, Charlie could have a real job on his hands if we don't have a fresh start  very, very soon.

"Aston Villa have appointed Charlie Wijeratna as the club's first ever chief commercial officer.

Charlie Wijeratna commented: "I am delighted to be returning to football at such a storied club as Aston Villa and I'm really excited about the challenge and the opportunity in front of us. I am particularly looking forward to working with a senior management team that understands the opportunity that the Premier League's global television reach offers clubs today."
