i like lambert (he's a decent chap, so was mcleish) and i've even defended him (i think he has been dealt a shit hand by those in charge) but he has got to go.

he has completely lost it now. this club will be relegated if he continues to be in charge.

i would rather go down and know we gave it a fight, than 13 more repeats of last night.

Because they live in cloud cuckoo land, they have not even thought of getting to this point and they have no idea what to do next.
And as posters point out there is no depth in the coaching set up to give the job to as a stop gap.

Its pretty hard to see any outcome other than "we go again" which is bound to work!!!

This.

The most worrying thing about last night is the lack of fight.

I would take Michael Sheen playing Brian Clough as our manager right now. Lambert is an utter embarrassment.

I'd take Charlie Sheen playing Topper Harley.

As they're clearly keeping Lambert, why on earth haven't we hired an Assistant Manager? We are genuinely run like a clown college.

It's quite astounding how anyone is still supporting him.

It's also quite astounding that we have an owner who displays his varying degrees of that interest/lack of interest via total indifference, silence and perpetual torture of the fans; a manager who lacks any of the basic qualities required, even more so than TSM (at least he had some humility and common decency) and perhaps even Billy McBungle; and a Chief Exec who appears to be  under the impression that choosing a manager is a game of pure chance.  It would be hard to find three more useless lumps to put in charge of our wonderful club if we tried.  Perfect storm x clusterfuck x omnishambles = Aston Villa.

I'd be interested to hear from the 5 people who voted not to sack Lambert.

What's their motivation?

I'm not one but perhaps the fact there is no viabel alternaitive?? How is out there and who would really want to be under Lerner's employ? it's all too depressingly ineviatble that we have been fatally holed below the waterline and now we are sinking - fast - and no-one can save us.

His post-match interview was very perturbing too- he looked like a man expecting the sack. But the sack won't be forthcoming.

So we have a man who has no idea what he's doing and who no longer believes he knows what he is doing. Whilst he actually believed in himself we half a chance. Now we don't.

I can only assume that they believe Lerner could hire someone who could do even worse than the current incumbent, Terry Connor style.

Based on recent previous hires they may have a point.

I'd take Charlie Sheen playing Topper Harley.

I'd take Martin Sheen playing Topper Headon.
