We've got to start some serious Lambert Out chants. It's not going to make the players any worse and it'll be short term pain for long term gain for them.

Tonight is his Bolton moment.

Will it matter, we know he's out of his depth, so does he and the owner doesn't seem to care. I've shouted for him to go bit now I just think sheer mindless support for the team is the best way to go, they really cant get any worse and Lamberts' going nowhere

We've unconditionally supported the team under this manager for 3 years now and they're worse than ever. If you think doing the same will produce different results you're mad. Yes the owner is clueless but some serious vocal supporter discontent might make him realise what an absolute shambles this is.

Not if his telly has a 'mute' button, it won't.

Burnley away was a hefty proportion of anti Lambert chants and songs, agree that the home support has been less abrasive

Away supports can't make too much noise though. I was at Arsenal and there was fuck all but even if we'd all been booing the media wouldn't have picked up on it. It needs 10-15,000 at VP making noise. That would get the media to sit up and take notice.

One 'no'? That's got to be someone fucking about, trying to cheer themselves up.

Me again.

I think things are awful, Villa-wise. I like Lambert but that should be no reason kept on. I genuinely don't think anyone better would come (and he's kept us up before after similar patches of total shit).

I think of Joe Kinnear and Shearer when I think about sacking him.

How could anything be worse than what we're doing at the moment.

I just saw him on Sky Sports News.

He had the same look in his eyes as Mcleish after the Bolton defeat. He knows in his heart he's finished.

It remains to be seen whether Lerner or Fox have the bollocks to sack him and the nous to have had a replacement lined up and ready for this weekend.

I know what my money's on.

We could be 10 points away.

Lerner would probably give Lambert the bullet and then bring in McLeish to keep us up.

I hope he goes to the board and comes to some sort of financial agreement to part ways. Nobody walks anymore, but they can part ways for the good of the club. Both sides retain a bit of dignity and we can move on. I am just floored by tonight's result because I naively believed that it surely couldn't go on forever. And instead there is no sign at all that it is ever going to end while he is here.

I was addressing your view that there hadn't been any booing or anti Lambert stuff.

I think its very late and our best bet for protesting at the ineptitude of Villa, from top to bottom, is at ST renewal time. For now, man the pumps, not the barricades.

Paulie - he couldn't do any worse.

In other unrelated matters - better call Saul started on Netflix last night - superb

I'm really going to start feeling strongly about the word "capitulation" soon.

Sacking him now might be too late, but it's the only card we have left to play. We simply have to play it now. It cannot get worse than it is already. The fans would be galvanised and unite behind the team, and whoever comes in will get support until we're assured safety. We're only going to beat this by coming together and fighting as one.

Let's see Fox call that a false flaming narrative.
