This made me laugh, though. From Joe_c of this parish, on Facebook just now:

" Other songs after the match included "Pick up ourselves up and we go again" to Tom Hark "Can't fault the effort from the lads" to She'll be coming round the mountain and "I thought we were excellent" to, erm, that opera one. Tosca possibly. Or the Marriage of Figaro."

Bye Paul Lambert.

I honestly think Lerner is going to sack him this week.

It needs to be done. It has to be done.

One 'no'? That's got to be someone fucking about, trying to cheer themselves up.

This is the winner. I almost wish I was there now.

We've got to start some serious Lambert Out chants. It's not going to make the players any worse and it'll be short term pain for long term gain for them.

Tonight is his Bolton moment.

Will it matter, we know he's out of his depth, so does he and the owner doesn't seem to care. I've shouted for him to go bit now I just think sheer mindless support for the team is the best way to go, they really cant get any worse and Lamberts' going nowhere

The owner must care;  he's at risk of losing millions per season if relegation happens and more with the new PL deal announced today.

We've unconditionally supported the team under this manager for 3 years now and they're worse than ever. If you think doing the same will produce different results you're mad. Yes the owner is clueless but some serious vocal supporter discontent might make him realise what an absolute shambles this is.

Gawd knows, we've been patient, they are shit, we've booed and told them how shit they are, they are shit, we've taken the piss, they are shit, we've tried light hearted humour, they are shit.

Lambert is going nowhere, there have been 10ish occasions when he should have been sacked but he's still here, and now looking on the verge of a stroke, he's not getting the sack so the choice is get behind them and hope for the best or get on their backs and be proved right on how shit they are. They don't deserve support but I don't think they will handle more criticism.

I don't think we have booed them or told them how shit they are. Any booing during Lamberts reign has been a small minority and hardly heard I bet beyond the Holte End.

Now's the time for some serious aggression from the fans. The results can't get any worse so we've got literally nothing to lose. If we keep taking this shit we'll regret it when we're playing in the 2nd division next year.

The only reason that you would keep him at the moment is if you actually wanted us to go down.

Because every other scrap of evidence screams that he has to go.

Him still being in charge is almost surreal.

I honestly don't think for a second he is going to be sacked before the end of the season.

I hope you are right and I am wrong.

Burnley away was a hefty proportion of anti Lambert chants and songs, agree that the home support has been less abrasive

I don't think he will. Does that Westley lad still post on here btw? Want to see what he thinks of 'Paul'.

Me again.

I think things are awful, Villa-wise. I like Lambert but that should be no reason for him to be kept on. I genuinely don't think anyone better would come (and he's kept us up before after similar patches of total shit).

I think of Joe Kinnear and Shearer when I think about sacking him.
