We beat Hull when we were running away with the league.  Now we are the worst team in the league on current form.

True, but we also beat Hull last season with ease when we were in freefall.

To be honest, I keep reading 'if that happens, he has to go', in all honesty I couldn't hazard a guess at how many times it's been typed in here, but unless he shags Lerner's daughter, gets her pregnant, then refuses to speak to her again, I don't think he'd get the boot.

God only knows what his contract of employment says, because there can be no way on this earth that his performance could normally be deemed acceptable.

True, but what were Hulls circumstances at the time?
I think being in that situation would have effected any club.

If a neutral in the media said that we would probably get the hump. But it is spot on.

Hull's next game is at Man City so can see our game with them the following Tuesday being loser gets sacked. Unless one or both of them have already got the bullet.

My Hull fan relative has been telling me for a while that he reckons we'll beat them and that that will be the results that effectively, if not mathematically, condemns them.

Hull have had a very poor twelve months disguised by a cup final, staying up and the media not making too much fuss as they are expected to be relegation battlers. With two bang out of form sides who don't exactly score goals for fun 0-0 would be a good bet.

I've watched a few of their games recently (on streams), and they are absolutely awful.

if we can't beat them, we should probably just give up.
i BELIEVE WE ALREADY HAVE

We have. And we need to do it again. It should be even easier than last time, too.

I dvr'd a Hull game the other week. I watched the first 30 mins or so and thought it was such shite I couldn't be bothered watching any more. It occurred to me at the time that may well be how other clubs fans regard us :(

We are potentially missing out on the guy I'd want for the job Sherwood.

So what do you do about Chelsea at home? Who do you play and what sort of beating do you take in order to ensure fitness and expect victory?

Rudy.

1. He isn't lambert
2. Having the best win percentage of any of Spuds' last three managers.

Shudder.......the next few weeks shudder.

Aston Villa are stepping up their hunt for a new assistant manager.

Boss Paul Lambert has been without an official No.2 for ten weeks after Roy Keane’s highly-publicised exit at the end of November.

Previously the Scot had played down the importance of recruiting a new right-hand man as first-team coach Scott Marshall filled the void left by Keane’s departure.

But it’s understood an active search is under way which will be intensified in the coming weeks.

While Villa are still not in a rush to recruit – they will continue to carry out due diligence until they find the utstanding candidate – the need for an assistant has not been lost on the Villa heirarchy.

It’s thought that, ideally, a new man will be in place before the end of the month but, if not, the post will certainly be filled before the season’s close.

Lambert hasn’t had much joy with No.2s during his Villa reign.

Keane quit because he couldn’t manage the workload at both Villa and the Republic of Ireland and his previous trusted lieutenant, Ian Culverhouse, was sacked by the club.

Villa hope the next appointment will be a more successful choice and it’s likely he will spend plenty of time with Villa’s youngsters as well as the first team.

In recent times there has been a drive to bring in experienced professionals with a history of getting results.

A chief commercial officer has been sounded out and the search is also on for a director of football operations.

Behind the scenes there are steady signs of improvement but that hasn’t been transferred on to the pitch just yet.

Five at the back against Chelsea.

I would consider dropping Benteke for Hull. He looks like he cannot be arsed and I am tired of seeing him mope about. He should definitely be played for the Chelsea game though useful outlet for a game we will surely play on the break.
