This is a quote on the BBC web site - which manager are they talking about?

Actually, he is not a great coach, he's not a great tactician, he's not a great motivator and he struggles with big players who question his authority

I think that was Danny Mills talking about his close pal Stuart Pearce.

At work this morning I'm having the piss ripped out of me by a wolves fan and a Huddersfield fan. I've never felt so bad about what's happening at Villa in over 30 years as a fan. The whole club is an absolute shambles.
In the Times today: "Can we slay you every week?" and "Aston Nilla"
They're all at it

Both those fucking rats farts of football clubs would kill to be in the Premier league, even stinking it out, so they can both piss off.

I made the mistake of wearing my Villa jacket to the pictures last night. As I was leaving the guy behind me said "that film was really bad. Not as bad as Aston Villa though!"

Spot on, but it also fits Lambert very well and should have the same end result as Pearce.

I haven't voted but I don't think he should be sacked purely because I have zero confidence in the current administration's ability to appoint an effective replacement. Plenty of people are saying that anybody would be an improvement but I would remind those people that Neil Warnock is currently immediately available and would relish the challenge. It's a depressing thought I know but I am reluctantly staying in the Devil you know camp.

Haven't voted either but I agree with this. I don't think there is anyone better out there and a lot of the options have been bombed out by other clubs already. I don't think it's the right situation to throw an up-and-coming manager to the wolves either if we were to approach someone like Karl Robinson at MK Dons (I may have got his name wrong)

In the last 12 months we've played 37 League games.

We've not scored in 21 of them.
We've conceded 3 or more in 9 of them.
We've scored more than 1 in 4 of them.
We've had 0 or 1 shot on target in 12 of them.

That's 4 games, in a whole season where we've scored more than 1 goal. 21 times we've not scored at all and 9 times we've took a twatting, it's ridiculous that it's been allowed to continue. Randy Lerner should be ashamed of how he's fucked the running of the club up.

I think he's reached the end of the road. He looks as though he has run out of ideas and doesn't know what to do to rectify things. He's seems to just be floundering now.

I don't think Lerner will get rid of him though. He hasn't yet pushed a manager out the door at this stage of the season and, even if he did, I have little confidence in his ability to find a decent replacement. Mind you, I think Lerner himself has little confidence in his ability to find a decent replacement as well, which is likely one of the reasons he is so loath to intervene.

There's an inertia about the club at the moment on so many levels. If one of the people in a position of authority doesn't act soon, it will just drift off into reduced circumstances of its own accord.

Make no mistake, I want him gone, but I fear he is here for the remainder of the season at least and might even get one try and getting us back up if we go down.

I agree.

If we went down - and I think we will - I reckon he'd get the chance to bring us back up.

Exciting times indeed.
