No he's digging his Villa managerial grave.

How ugly does it have to get before he is pushed in it?

I can't make my mind up if the switching of focus onto the fans and what they expect and the deflection of criticism from his part in the car crash is him being brilliantly astute at keeping the London media on his side or simply saying the first thing that comes into his fevered brain.

Thing is it's all becoming very confused now. One week the fans are brilliant, the next our expectations are out of line. Then there's the fact he played long ball football for the best part of two years only to now say it's not his style. Then there's the fact earlier in the season he said he's not concerned by stats and now he's highlighting our possession percentage stats. It's just completely bizarre.

“The expectancy levels outweigh the realism, that’s what you have to live with. That’s the bottom line."

I'd like to say he's in the death throes of his Aston Villa career, I'd really like to think so.

Have I missed something - he hasn't actually said this has he?

When a manager starts trotting out this, the end is usually nigh.

That occurred to me as well. Although then I thought about the freshness of that new four year contract, and discounted this being relevant to us now :-(

Also didn't Fox say he wanted us to be in Europe in 3-5 years, we're absolutely miles off that at the moment even as a medium to long term target. So you'd think he wouldn't be too happy with comments of this nature.

Faulkner said we should be on target for Europe again within 3 years shortly after beating Liverpool away back in 2012.

I don't think it has ever been a plan in the true sense of the word (certainly doesn't seem like one), it's just a soundbite thrown around to buy them a bit more time.

Given that 90% want a new manager should we have a poll as to who people think it should be or just a 'post one name game'.

He also said this as well regarding the Sanchez substitution.

I took off Carlos as I thought the only way Leicester would come at us was on the counter-attack.

I can't believe he's said that.

Perhaps he's talking about Randy sacking him

Recalling Robinson when he was having a successful loan was dumb also

My word, so expecting us to score every now again is not realistic?

He doesn't walk away from a job ..well apart from literally every managerial position he has held.
