Disappointing comments from Guzan. Who wants to watch this latest chapter of shit Brad? Passing sideways until we either lose the ball or hoof it anyway? All this whilst creating fuck all.

I'm still not quite sure why people persist with the idea we're certainties for relegation.

As things stand, so far this season, we're 13tge best in the division. It doesn't fucking feel like it though, I'll grant you that.

We're awful, apparently bereft of ideas or inspiration, and constantly taking one step forward and three steps back, however, our defence is pretty solid and that's saving our bacon.

Lambert needs to go though, it's unbearably bad.

Forget the position, just look at the points difference between us and the bottom 3.

Between us, Hull, QPR, Sunderland, Leicester and Burnley and I think the latter will survive because they have some fight about them

I imagine the players have been asked to be supportive

The fight that has thus far lead to all those sides earning less points.

Its not about fight, its about quality and we have a huge lack of it in the final third between the midfield and Benteke. N'Zogbia, Gabby, Weimann, they're just not good enough and it has shown in 11 league goals.

Hopefully Gil, who looks very direct and good on the ball can improve that, as he surely isn't going to be any worse than the other three. I would like to see Bacuna and Grealish get a chance ahead of the other three and I still think we need another attacking player coming in as well as Gil. If its Sinclair, so be it.

Bozzy on talksport on the way to work this morning, despite being on the other side of the world had a very good grasp on the situation. In summary;

He said he didnt know PL or his tactics but our squad is capable of better football than we are producing
Said our lack of goals is down to the negative mindset being pushed on the whole club - our approach seems to be make sure we dont conceed, not lets go and attack
Said there has been little to no improvement in 3 years and everytime we come up against an obstacle we are unable to overcome it and regress back to our negative mindset
Said it has little to do with funding/squad. You could argue that on paper there was nothing between our best team and southamptons at the start of the season, Koeman just knows what to do with his players
Said the fans are rightfully fed up
Said we need new faces in. Not because we are short of quality but because the squad/club needs a lift
Said if there are not major changes at the club, Eventually we will go down. Constant relegation fights wear teams down, No club is too big.

Yes there are a few cliches but its all spot on IMO. I would say the only possible bone of contention would be between our team and Southamptons but remember;
How good Gabby was when utilised properly by MON, How good Weimann was when he first broke through. How well Vlaar and Sanchez performed at the world cup and how good CNZ was at Wigan. Okore turned down Chelsea to sign for us. Benteke was a world beather last season but has had the life drained out of him. Even players like Lowton, Cleverley, Delph, Gardner all seem to be regressing whilst we are seeing little progress from the likes of Robinson and Grealish.

I heard only rumours somewhere about a director of football coming in.
Someone whispered this to me a few weeks ago.
I started to worry even more.

I was told something was happening regarding a director of football as well a few weeks back.

I hope so, some strategic direction at board level has been needed for 8 1/2 years, if this is true it's a good sign as maybe the club have realised that we need to change to get out of this rut.

So, despite the awful records, appaling statistics, piss poor football, and an general feeling of impending doom, the bloke is still our manager.
I think even his most supportive fans will say that he his lucky to still be here, given that football managers have been sacked for much less than we have had to put up with.

So, my question is, 4 year contract or not, is Paul Lambert unsackable?

It is all very well buying 1-2 players but its Paul Lambert who will be utilising them and getting them to play the way he wants to. As long as Lambert is here I feel we're pretty much waving a white flag at all the teams we play. Beat Liverpool by some miracle and Lambert is still here. Win three on the bounce and Lambert is still here and we know he is incapable of keeping good spells going. Lose ten on the bounce and Lambert is still here. He's not going anywhere and we are going to be blundering along indefinitely. OK with anyone welse as boss we wouldn't be top 6 but by god we'd be more competent, positive and win more than we do now.

I think a DoF would not solve the main problem, because Lambert's signings and transfer coordination is, generally, pretty good. Maybe he could be a good DoF - but what we need is someone to sort out the evidently lamentable coaching and team preparation.

See now Guzan has said this -

 "We can sit here and lump the ball forward, hope for the best and try to pick up second balls but who wants to watch that?'

It seems the club is trying to erase the truth of the last two years. You're right Brad no one does want to watch that, but why did the team insist on playing like that for so long then? and the current performances are hardly much to write home about.
What confuses me is that have been assumptions by fans, commentators, reporters etc., (and now Guzan it seems) that there are only two ways to play football, possession or long ball. Now I'm no expert but I reckon that there is more to football style than this.

I think there is more chance of a structural change at the club than Lambert leaving. If he does get fired then it will be around March where things haven't improved at all after the window and it gives someone else possibly 6-8 weeks to rescue things. If things do pick up after the window then Lambert will be here for a good while yet.

Norwich fan on Talksport still bitter about our Lambert chants a Carrow Road on the last day of the season before he was appointed. Loving the fact we are giving him stick and want him out. Followed by a Villa fan who kindly fuelled all the myths about TSM never standing a chance wit the fans purely because of where he came from. Good times.
