Oh for a fans forum with Lambert, he'd be made to look a mug.

It'd be humiliating for him I'd imagine.

Can anyone tell me why we bought Cissokho to be our wingback either? The bloke cannot cross the road, solid and sound defensively by and large but once he gets across the half way line he's guaranteed to give the ball away, this is no big secret, it's what Liverpool fans were saying. So why has Lambert bought him and decided he's going to be one of our two main attacking outlets... the other being Alan Hutton.

That's the thing.

Hutton, who I think is our best player this season, constantly looks our most threatening attacking outlet because he gallops up field. That's bad, not because it's Alan Hutton, but because when your right back fills that role, you're in trouble.

Cissokho to me looks capable defensively, but he gets up the pitch and puts a ball in, and you could run a spot the ball competition on where it's going to end up.

Cissokho is one of the worst crossers of the ball i've seen for sometime. I've been saying it for months now that's why when Vlaar, Okore and Clark are all fit, I prefer Clark playing there. Cissokho, Cleverley and Gabby are pretty much the weak links every match and shouldn't be constantly playing.

He's started every game and we have the fewest goals?

He was bought as a full back, not a wing back. We play this new style now, haven't you noticed?
It's all about trying not to let the other team score while we play the ball around our half of the pitch. In fairness to Lambert I think he's trying to invent a new game. Soon we won't need strikers, that's old school.

@martinlaurence7: Aly Cissokho has attempted 74 crosses this season. Aly Cissokho has completed 7 accurate crosses this season...

7 seems too high for me. I may or may not watch every game back for clarification.

Cissohko isn't even that strong defensively. As has been pointed out, we don't concede many goals but go back through them and you'll see he's at fault for quite a few of them, generally when he switches off and let's his man get in front of him.

The thing for me with Cissohko is that when he arrived he seemed to want to take defenders on but over the course of this season seems to have had that coached out of him. Now he generally runs until he comes up to a defender then will stop, turn round and pass it back to a centre half. It's just so pointless.

It's just not going to happen here for Lambert. To give the guy credit, he doesn't give up. But that's not what this club needs. We need assurance, we need consistency of imput  from the management for a more consistent output on the pitch.  It looks like the players are confused on where we are tactically. Lambert will have to be pushed, because he has this blind idea that he can turn things around.

Like Luna, Cissokho started the season well, but also like Luna, it turns out this was an abberration.

Lambert is worse than Mcleish for me now, because as awful as that season was at least he had a plan. I didn't like the plan and I didn't think it worked, but at least he believed in what he was doing. Lambert genuinely doesn't have a clue and is just a walking contradiction.

Bertrand started really well when he joined but seemed to go backwards as the season wore on.

Well he's playing well now at Southampton, so perhaps he goes into the 'good player ruined by Lambert' file.

I genuinely think that the only player to have improved since Lambert arrived is Delph.  And I think that's happened despite Lambert, not because of him.

Micky Quinn on Talksports says Lambert is doing his job by keeping us in the top flight and that things wont change until he is given more money. Cant believe the bullshit that man spouts.

He deserved all the stick that he got yesterday.

The mismanagement of Aston Villa at all levels is criminal and I have no doubt that, even at this point of the season, that we will be relegated if things don't change. We have absolutely nothing in the final third of the pitch and the team seem to be a constant comatosed state.
