I'm not sure if Albion's squad has the necessary quotient of big blokes who can throw the ball really far for him to work his magic. Also don't forget if he falls out with the board due to lack of funds to acquire enough big blokes, he'll just bugger off.

I'm no fan of Pulis but he didn't go long ball at Palace. They actually played some pretty decent stuff in the short time he was there to get them out of trouble. Now, we all know how they would have ended up because he would have fallen back on what he knows to keep them in the PL long term, but he'll use the resources he has at his disposal well at Albion and make them hard to beat which is the first and most important step in surviving in the PL.

I think Pulis will do a decent job for them. As TV says, first he will make them hard to beat, sort out that powder puff midfield and try and nick the odd goal.

When Pulis  has made them hard to beat, he'll set about making them a Pulis side, one which would have 90 percent of the people here who complain about Lambert's football throwing themselves off the top of the Holte End.

He might stop them going down - although, really, is there any need to be that worried about relegation in December - but then he'll still have a good three years on his contract.

I can't understand when people start to talk up any manager they consider "better than Lambert" after having said in the previous breath how shit Lambert is.

If Lambert is really that shit, then surely "better than Lambert" is just about the most pointless bit of praise there is?

As bad as it sounds, he's just a better version of Lambert.

I'd take a punt on somebody with a bit of charisma - Gullit? Out of favour but may be able to attract better players. Chequred managerial career but I imagine we'd be higher than 16th!

Just to clarify I don't want Pulis.  But I do want us to do something more exciting.  If we are going to stick with Lambert then the least that can happen are a couple of decent signings in January.  I see we are linked with Sanogo of arsenal on loan.  Low key It may sound but it might be a lift we need.  I'm just sick of the dourness of the whole place at the minute.

Wonder if Lambert would consider bringing in Alan Irvine as his assistant? Did a good job with Moyes at Everton in the same role.

Doesn't look great for Lambert if he can't convince Delph to stay. Thought Delph might show Lambert and the club a bit of loyalty but it doesn't look likely now.
