A year ago Pulis was like the footballing manager version of the anti Christ before his jammy few months at Palace. Now fans cry out for him like he's the second coming.
Wouldn't want him within a million miles of Villa Park.

In the same way I have a guilty crush on Stacy Solomon despite the nose, mouth and the voice.

And you call me a weirdo!

I like one woman with a cracking body whom happens from the neck up to be more Grand National winner than Miss World winner. You like them dead, dying, dismembered or terrified for their life. Define weirdo. :)

Totally agree.

That brief Palace cameo doesn't fool me. This is a man who was the prince of anti-football. Not just horrific tactics, but all the shitty gamesmanship that went with it.

If we are ever going to get the most we can out of this club, we need to do it by playing football the right way, not resorting to yet another management relic.

The worst thing about the Lambert experience is we thought we were getting a progressive coach, but it turned out we were getting a Poundland Martin O'Neill.

The amusing thing with Pulis is I'd be pretty confident we'd win 10 home games if he was in charge for a full season. Think Palace won 7/13 from his spell last season and Stoke were always formidable. He'd probably narrow the pitch as one of his first tasks.

I'm sick to death of us hardly winning at home so improved home form must be a criteria for whoever the next manager is when that time eventually comes.

No confidence at all in Lambert ever sorting it out.

Usually when Smethwick are in talks with two obvious candidates they end up with Pepe Mel.  I'd so love it if O'Leary turned up.

I would love to stamp my feet, argue and call you far less of a Villa fan than me for that statement. But the truth is I think you have hit the nail on the head with that description of PL.

Yeah, that's fucked up maaan.

Then again, I took a took mountains of abuse for my adolescent obsession with Irish songstress Clodagh Rodgers.

None other than classmate James McParland, nephew of our 57 FA Cup hero and the spitting image of his uncle told me that Clodagh was a wankeress who wore too much makeup.

What say you all?

I say she is easy on the eye but appears to be wearing a wigwam. Any attempt at hanky panky could result in any number of native Americans being driven from their home.

Paul Lambert says England will NEVER have World Cup success without schedule changes

ASTON VILLA manager Paul Lambert has warned the FA that England will never win the World Cup unless they give players a break.

By Ian Baker

The Scot has renewed calls for a winter break after seeing his side play twice in three days two weeks running over Christmas.

It is a far cry from the attitudes on the continent where Lambert was given the whole of Christmas off while he played for Borussia Dortmund in the late 1990s.

Ahead of tomorrow's [NYD] home game with Crystal Palace, Lambert said: "I had it in Germany and it was fantastic. You shut down, everyone has a break and come back refreshed and ready for a massive push in the second half of the season. It's brilliant for everybody.

"I guarantee you fans would enjoy it too. My point of view is that you will have a lot better quality in the second half of the season with a break.

"Could it affect World Cup chances? Yeah. It would help everybody, the national team, everything. Even when I played it was great.

"Spain and Italy do it for example and they have warmer climates than us, so I don't understand why. When you go to a major tournament players haven't even had a rest.

"People think footballers are superhuman but they're normal guys. If you're selling a product to millions of people you sell it when everybody is fresh."

Villa have failed in an attempt to get Fabian Delph's three-match ban reduced.

Lambert appealed against the length of the England midfielder's suspension on the grounds it was "excessive."

Delph was sent off against Sunderland on Sunday and will now miss matches with Crystal Palace, Blackpool and Leicester.

Thirded. Surely we are not so desperate as to be wishing for Pulis? Lambert out if we must but Pulis in? Egads, thats a step too far for me. His transfer record alone (lots of money for very average players) should scare us off.

I cannot let that Paulie bon mot "Poundland MON" pass without doffing my hat to yet another H and V gem.
Lambert is an embarrassment in everything he does and says. The players are professional footballers. The fans/viewers who pay their wages want holiday entertainment. The players have wealth and privilege far beyond the vast majority, let them earn a bit of it.

I am all for football over the Xmas period but we never seem to win. Let everybody else play and we should have a winter break, no more messed up Boxing days. One problem with this cunning plan, do we statistically ever have a good month?
