Sorry but what credit does he deserve for ending another one of his failed genius ideas, the long ball?

He's a moron for training us in that way in the first place and the fact he thought it was a legitimate tactic tells me all I need to know about him.

He's clueless.

The problem I have is that a long ball into Benteke on Saturday could have caused mayhem in that Manure defence.
The "roll it out - roll it back - boot it" isn't exactly cutting edge. Mix it up and don't be so predictable.

Lambert seems to catch onto an idea about 9 months after everyone has talked about it and then apply it across the board.
I'm still waiting for that No 10 he realised we needed this time last year.
We will be looking for a wide player in about 11 months time...

We're getting close to a settled side with our big players back and all playing well. More of the same as shown on Saturday till the end of the season and I wont be complaining.

I've switched to "give him more time" but I expect I'll want him gone again after we lose to Swansea.

I'm not fickle.

The next 5 games will be defining for me as to whether he's got any future as manager. They're all very winnable games, so if we revert to the crap we've seen earlier in the season, I fear that there really is no hope for him (although he's unlikely to be sacked even in that event). I desperately want him to succeed, but I really am doubtful that he can.

Completely agree.

A sort of option 4.  Would  like to give him more time, but he's hanging by a thread. (which considering a few weeks ago, I'd have paid to fly to Birmingham, , rent a car and drive him anywhere in Europe if it meant getting someone half sensible in, is a bit of a turnaround.)

Still desperately unconvinced, but desperately hoping he can at least maintain the apparent improvement in style and tactic.  That should be good enough for mid-table this season, which after the last 4 years will be considerable progress. I'm convinced the players are good enough for at least that, the question still is, is he?

Good posts both imho and couldn't agree more.

He's clearly got a new plan and I want it to work...desperately!

(Also need to convince my family that going to Swansea on "party" day is worth it!)

I wouldn't say Swansea away or Liverpool home is "very winnable".
By our standards if we can win 2 out of the next 5 we've done well.

I want him gone unless he does well in the FA cup.

I would. At home to a side we've already beaten away and are a massive 2 points better off than us. If that isn't a very winnable game I don't know what is. And we should hardly be shitting ourselves about facing Swansea either.

What if we lose to Blackpool but go on a stunning run and finish 4th?

I'd take a draw in both games. They'll both be very tough for us as we simply don't score enough.

They won't be easy to win, but i'd definitely class them as 'winnable' games. Which knowing us probably means we'll get a good shoeing in both games.

Fourth is not silverware. He owes ME a cup! I will take 4th from bottom if we win the FA cup.

He goes!
4th just isn't good enough!
