What a load of old bollocks.  Can we draw a line under this nonsense now?

Yes. This is getting a bit boring now.

95% of the top flight clubs would not have 25% of their total gate missing for a Sunday home game v Spurs.

Still avoiding what you said about if Pulis came in? That you wouldn't go?

You're a shiiiit fan.

If you read the comment correctly I said I would not step foot in VP again, I would still travel to away games.  The gloating of the prawn sandwich brigade at VP at the dismissal of PL and the arrival of the saviour of AVFC, Tony Pulis would be too much for this shiiiit fan to take.

Roll on Burnley next Saturday.

You would still be watching the same awful football that he serves up regardless, just a few miles away. So i don't really see the point in therefore not going to VP, as the reason you wouldn't be going there is ... Pulis? You'd just support his awful football elsewhere? I don't get the point.

His argument is basically this.

Scenario 1 - Lots of people on here suggesting Lambert is not good enough - having actually observed him doing the job for over two years - are somehow not proper supporters, they are laptop warriors who don't go to matches, like real fans do. Like he does.

Scenario 2 - if we were, hypothetically, to appoint Pulis, then he would not set foot in Villa Park, in protest.

Obviously, the glaring hole in the above argument is that he is applying a different set of standards for himself - he, being a SuperFan, is perfectly within his rights to talk about boycotting home matches in protest to the appointment of a man who has never actually been our manager, whereas other people, not going to matches because of a manager who has actually been doing the job for over two years, well they are half-arsed, fickle laptop warriors.

Ah right ok. Cheers paulie.

I am now officially ending my participation in this particular debate.

Do you think that after about the 500th slave had stood up and claimed to be him, Spartacus eventually turned round and said "actually, guys, this is beginning to p**s me off a little bit now"?

These quotes are intended to be read by fans as to understand Lamberts feelings. Keep the faith. Lambert certainly does

That's OK to say during the first season of struggle and maybe the second. When do you draw the line and say he's had long enough, no matter how much "faith" he's keeping?

He's getting paid to serve up that shit

But villa fans have to pay to watch it.

I've come to the realisation after reading this thread, that all of us (apart from Westley) have been trapped in a parallel universe for the past two and a half years.

It's clearly all been a massive shared dream that we failed to keep a clean sheet for 27 games, that we went out of cup competitions to sides like Bradford, Millwall and Sheffield Utd. That our home form has been embarrassing and the quality of football served up eye gouge worthy. We haven't really only scored 5 goals in 12 games this season and we didn't go on a run of 6 consecutive defeats where we only scored one goal.

We have actually qualified for the champions league the last two seasons, and only failed to win it after Lionel Messi was incorrectly ruled onside in last years final. Lambert's tactics have been likened to those employed by Brazil 1970 and although we have had a slow start this season, winning the last 4 games has got us firmly back in the title race.

Thank you Westley for bringing us all out of this weird trance, and showing all the Lambert haters the folly of their ways.

He is entitled to his opinion, no matter how ridiculous, wrong, extreme or downright bizarre others might find it.

I wonder what Westley would have made of Billy McNeill or Josef Venglos.   I wonder what Westley made of O'Leary.

I think we should cleanse ourselves of this madness and start a fresh; no more side splittingly hilarious "is he gone yet? Hurh hurh" jokes, no more bellendish I am better at being a Villa fan than you, none of the inverse snobbery oneupmanship with how little you go, instead just a thread of digging Lambert out or supporting him. Pwoppa critique.

He's a nice bloke that's trying hard in circumstances that most managers would find hard.

However, he's not doing well enough and has presided over far too many issues. I'd prefer it if he left and if nothing else our ire could focus on where it should be focussed, the owner.

Funny you should say you find him nice Drum.  I thought TSM was a nice bloke.   Lambert comes across to me as just a tad shifty.   Just an impression which may well be as wrong as a lot of other stuff I think.

But you are correct when you say the real blame now lies with the owner.   All our woes are as nothing compared to the fact that we are in ownership limbo.
