Beyond anything tangible the worst thing about the club currently is just the hopelessness of it all. There seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. We don't appear remotely close to being sold, Lambert appears unsackable, at least two of our players appear to be leaving and the mentality of the whole club seems to be that of defeat.
They say its the hope that kills you. Im with you, there is no hope left. (Except in Westleys head!) The best we can hope for is a couple of scraped draws and wins and pray there are 3 clubs in more of a mess than ours. We will never improve on where we are under Lambert, Im positive of that. We will never improve under Lerner. The money, interest, investment just isnt there. We are seemingly a mile away from any takeover so I just dont see how anything can change. I now believe, after the recent results, Lerner will not sack Lambert, which is the only possible variable we could change. Im yet to see anything of note from Mr Fox also. So far since he joined, we have given Lambert a 4year contract - proving to be one of the worst decisions made in the Lerner era, We have given Gabby a new contract which many believe is unwarranted (I personally was quite pleased) but its hardly difficult to get a lifelong fan whos most valuable asset is diminishing with age with no other real interest to sign a new contract and finally getting Grealish to sign a new deal which, again, at this stage is probably best for his development at the club he supports in the city where he is settled.
He has failed to tie down Vlaar who is off in January and has failed to tie down Delph who is off for free in the summer. If im seeing this wrong im happy to be corrected...

No one would argue that injuries have had an effect on the team, as they would with any team, but what is not mentioned is that players that HE has purchased even if on a free, we still have wages to cost in, are not good enough to step up, even on a temporary basis.

How many players have we injured at the moment, possibly about the same amount of players HE bought that are out on loan, as he has deemed them not good enough, add to them the likes of Joe Cole who with good reason he does not play, but HE brought him to the club.

If as believed that until the arrival of Fox, Lambert had complete control of the footballing side i.e. purchases, talent spotting, his purchases at a time when we all seem to agree, there is a very limited and shrinking budget, have not proven very effective, add this to a continual perception from the outside looking in, that once an argument, disagreement has taken place with a player, they seem to disappear into outer space (Okore), that alone should see him get the boot, if money is tight, it needs to be spent wisely.

This is a good point that people miss when debating the fact we have had key players missing. If his purchases were actually any good, then there would be other 'key players' to fill the void, but they're largely poor (and largely playing elsewhere). Cue budget reply.

Or forming Bomb Squad 2.0 (Okore)

Or to put it another way, we can't compete with the Bradfords, Leyton Orients, Millwalls, Sheffield Uniteds, Crystal Palaces or Fulhams of this world.

Says it all, if he had any self respect, or any respect for the club he'd have resigned after the first of these disgusting debacles. Thank God we don't have to play  Small Heath (yet).  Can you imagine?

You might consider adding Leicester to the list - Savage will be rehearsing his taunts already.

I don't know what his problem is with Okore, but it must be something significant if he reckons Clark is a better defender than him.

Has he got a wooden leg nobody noticed before we signed him or something?

I was round a mate of a mate's house for the Spurs game. When the final score was announced of Villa 1 Spurs 2 his pet parrot said "oh no oh on oh no" and started sobbing. The bloke said "he always does that when we lose" so I asked what it does when we win and he replied "I don't know, i've only had him 2 years."

It's absolutely ridiculous, but then this is also a man who thinks we've been 'excellent'.

Can see the hippodrome panto now Treasure Island with Jores Okore ss Long John Silver, Paul Lambert as Blind Pugh, Randy Lerner as Squire Trelawny, Tom Cleverley as the cabin boy Jim Lad and Roy Keane as Mad Benn Gunn.

Book early to avoid disappointment.

I think it's far more simple than that. Okore plays on the right, Clark on the left.

We bought Kozak as cover for Benteke, you can't really legislate for having them both crocked. Similarly, being a centre half at Villa seems to almost guarantee being injured. Then there is Delph, our most important player crocked again. It is only the clubs with really deep squads who can get through that without it having a detrimental impact.

There might be plenty to criticise the club for but we have undeniably been extremely unlucky with injuries to key players.
