Keeping the Villa in the Premier League should never come under a job description for a Villa manager, it should be taken as a given. We've spent over a century in the top flight, its where we belong.

We look to the past to give us indication of what to expect in the future. Its a judgment call and it can be wrong of course, but there is nothing to suggest Lambert has it within him to do any better than brush with relegation and finish lower mid-table at best.

there's a missing file somewhere with some serious shit in it about RL. And PL has got it. It's the only rational explanation. One thing's for sure; the file contains nothing related to football.

In football world its known you have to earn the right .I have to challenge that its a given as its not so balanced a perspective which in therefor can cloud judgement on opinion. I could point this out further and ask do you think its wise for a manager or player to take such an attitude that we belong in the premier league?  (without performing)

This is getting dull, simple question for Footy and Westley, do you think we have a bottom 6 squad?

What is it about Lambert's attitude that suggests he thinks we belong in the Premier League? Thinking big lends itself to acting big. If you think that Aston Villa don't deserve to be in the top flight and that first and foremost we're a club who are "40 points first" then your expectations have been hacked to shreds.

We've gone humbly and meekly to our demise in the six straight defeats this season, offering next to nothing going forwards. Its no surprise we're not scoring goals, its the way we're set up; to contain, to be negative, to avoid defeat, rather than winning the game.

Its awful and there is no sign of change coming.

just out of interest, also being an armchair fan this season - has there been any Lambert out chants - more than just one or two people?

There is nothing, that's nothing, zilch, nichts, in Lambert's style of play that in anyway suggests we have a team or squad or playing style (more importantly) of being anything better than a bottom half team.  This 'Dortmund' plan of his isn't working, it hasn't worked and it will not work.  The players we have aren't good enough to execute it to any effect.  The problem to me now seems to be that Lambert would like us to play like Dortmund but realizes that we can't so has now reverted to trying to play like Dortmund resulting in us constantly giving the ball away.  The plan needs to be ditched and fast.  Get back to basics, get some width in the team, get some crosses in, create chances, score goals.  I don't think he can do that so we need someone else in who can refocus the playing staff.

I'm sorry but 'keeping us up' for the last couple of years is not sufficient for him to keep his job. Our squad may not be amazing, but it's not as bad as we're performing. We should be finishing mid-table with our current squad and below that is not good enough.

I haven't heard anything and it's the things that's amazes me the most this season. The apathy from the fans is mind boggling considering the crap we've had to endure. If Ellis was still here he'd have been lynched long before now. I just don't understand it. It's like we've become like a team with fans who are just happy to be in the Premier League and that's about it.
We should be kicking and screaming. We're Aston Villa for crying out loud, not Small Heath.
