No I don't know what you're getting at. If Norwich had got more points earlier they would have stayed up. If we hadn't got more than three other clubs we'd have gone down. I can't see why it is that we're somehow 'lucky' to avoid relegation when the same could be said for every other club outside the bottom three.
A bit like when commentators say a player is unlucky when a shot hits the woodwork: it's not unlucky, it's just not quite good enough.

Ok, I must be the only Villa fan (I know I'm not) who preys there are 3 worse teams than us every season for the last 4 years at least

Of course luck plays a part, imo. Spurs were lucky that Soldado, Chadli and Mason weren't sent off. That the luck was down to incompetence doesn't change it. You can also create your own to a degree. Their winner was luck. But by having a shot heading on target there is always the chance of a lucky deflection. On another day that Baker header will send a freekick that was going in over the bar.

I also believe that overall the league position you finish in is your true one based on a 38 game season. Every team had 38 games for the variables of luck, injuries etc to play a part. If you finish 1st you deserved it and 19 teams were worse than you. If you finish 10th you deserve it, 10 teams were worse. If you finish 16th you deserve it and 4 teams were worse. If you finish bottom you deserve it and you were the worst.

Well if Baker had got his fucking hair cut rather than sporting that ridiculous do, it might have missed him altogether and gone safely into Guzans gloves.
Also, that beard has got to be itching him all the time, thus breaking his concentration (it shows), so i think to increase our 'luck' as far as he's concenerned the management should insist on removing the excessive hair on his head and all over his boat.

His record in the last half season covering this season and last is 14 points from 19 games. We are deteriorating even further both in results and performance to even his first 18 months. I can't believe anyone wants to give him more time.

He is synonymous with undererperformance and defeats and it is draining the life out of everyone. The club is stuck in a malaise that only a change of manager is going to break .Even if he was to halt the slide in the next two or three games you can almost guarantee we'll wade into another depressing run of games - the pattern is well established.

I appreciate those looking for a more progressive type of football more befitting of Aston Villa but thats a giant leap from the dirge we're currently seeing. I'd be more than happy for Moyes to stabilise and take us forward.

I'm in agreement.2 and half years and we are as rubbish as his first season. He can't produce a sustained run of form in the league and his cup record alone is worthy of a P45.

I really think it's time we throw stability out the window. It really doesn't serve us on or off the pitch. We bring in a new CEO that has a great commercial track record and we expect him to make a silk purse from a pigs ear?

While Randy fiddles Rome burns. There will come a point very soon where our destiny is completely irreversible no matter who we decide to bring in.

I could not agree more, those stats are terrifying, this is nailed on relegation form and the longer we leave him in charge the more likely is that we will drop.
I really can not understand how this guy is in a job with a 4 year contract.

At the very least, there needs to still be some flickering ember of hope, hope that he can still improve us, he can still turn it around.

Without that, then they might as well bin him now.

I can't see him turning it around, given how long he has already had. Can you?

i
I really can't. No guarantee a new manager will improve us but we surely should act now as our form now looks like it did for the last nine games last year.

The root cause is Lerner , however , the squad is underachieving and playing horrid football with basic, limited tactics. That's Lamberts fault and he needs removing ASAP.

I am personally right on the brink of taking a Villa holiday until Lambert goes.   A very big part of my reason for carrying on with the torture is because I get to spend time with my sons and my grandsons.   That has to be set against the reality that we are all so down and unable enjoy being in each other's company.

I haven't been this season, although did most of preseason. Down enough without having to drive a couple of hours after the match.

Personally i never understand the argument of not going because we are poor..if you can't go due to finances or family commitments then thats fine but there is no better feeling for me,anyway of getting off at Witton station and entering Villa Park even if we have lost 6 in a row. I understand you're frustrations though.

There is no evidence to suggest he can. There has only been one spell when I thought that he knew what he was doing and that was the end of his first season. Since then the team seems to have lost all sense of purpose, direction and style.

The Lambert/Villa stats do not lie, they are a horror story, the majority of fans have been loyal and supportive to Paul for a long time but we simply cannot go on much longer like this, we need a new managerial face in that dressing room and on the training ground and quick, I am convinced Pulis or Moyes would make us better organised and get way more out of that squad, they cannot be worse, we are becoming a laughing stock and that should not be happening to our club.

STILL A Fan of Lambert ? WAKE UP to the FACTS : 1. Biggest defeat in premiership history (8-0 chelsea)

2. Worst start to a season since we've been in the premiership (his first season)

3. First manager since we've been in the premiership to have two seasons or more and hasn't achieved a top ten finish

4. Most home defeats in a single season ever

5. Most defeats over a season in our premiership history (20 last season)

6. Most goals let in over a season since we've been in the premiership (over 60 last season)

7. Five defeats in a row without scoring for the first time in our entire history

8. Six defeats in a row for the first time since we've been in the premiership and also beyond (47 years)

9. First manager to lose to a fourth tier side over two legs in a cup semi-final

10. First time we've gone out of cup competitions three years on the spin to lower league opposition?

11. 23 defeats in 36 games the worst run any manager has ever had at this club?
