Lerner will have to act if this run continues as his value of the club will half at least if we go down.On the plus side I think we would gather more interest then as most buyout of clubs have come in championship in recent times , as you can get a club relatively cheap and if you can get promoted your win the lottery of the prem league TV money.

We are in freefall now as shown by the stats posted above , the last 6 months have been shocking.Lambert might have some constraints but the guy's record is appalling.Money plays no part in it either when it comes to being beat time and time again in the cup by lower league teams.

I don't think he can turn this around , it needs fresh idea's stability in this case will not work.

if we are in the bottom three come christmas

pulis needs a 5 mth contract with big bonuses

I think you're right in both points.

I can't see Lerner making any decision this month so realistically it will be December/Xmas before he is forced to make his move.

Excellent suggestion on a short term contract for Pulis. He's a man that has a point to prove, especially given the reputation of crap football. He may not like the idea of being a footballing Red Adair but money talks, he obviously believes in his own ability and the carrot of Villa job full time may be too much of a temptation for him.

If he was successful in keeping us up and moving in the right direction I'd still only want to offer him a two year contract. Next summer is going to be a reality check for Lerner. We're very likely to lose Delph and Vlaar as they see out their contracts and both will need replacing. Benteke will also be off and given the way the current team play, we're likely to only get a fraction of the price we were taking about 18 months ago.

We really are in a shit place right now and we desperately need to stop sleep walking into the disaster relegation would be. We've enough problems as it is.

From what we hear, Pulis left Palace because of differences with the chairman.

There is no way on gods green earth that Lerner will not look to appoint another 'yes man' if he grew the balls to sack Lambert.
Pulis seems to me to be no 'Yes man' and would therefore be a non starter (thank heavens).

I take an opposite view. If Randy grows a pair and does what everybody else knows he should do, that would signal a real sea change and an appetite to appoint a true captain and leader.

Poster Eigentor, whom I respect and whose posts are always balanced and fair, clearly indicates the seriousness of the problem we face, namely that there are those who consider Lambert to be not all that bad and because those who appointed him can point to fans who want him to be given more time they will take the easy short term way out and stick with him.

Guilty as charged, because I really do go around thinking that there are worse managers than Lambert, and -- should Lambert leave -- that Lerner is capable to hire someone of them. I'm not sure if there is much point in changing managers before the ownership issue is resolved. The only thing we could realistically get from a change is a short-term boost, and then more of the same. I think the case for stability is better, for now. However, we need to start picking up points soon.

I'm warming to the idea of Pulis.  I think we'd become harder to beat at home under him, which is what we need to do as an absolute priority.

I've warmed to the idea of Pulis. He'd have us organised, and difficult to beat.
The players would know where they stand.  It wouldn't be pretty, but I think he'd have a positive impact.

I agree. At present, we're not pretty, disorganised and shit. Under Pulis, it still wouldn't be pretty but we'd be organised and not shit. It's a no brainer.

I realise we're heading for another schism here, but no, no and a thousand times no to Tony Pulis.

Same here. The Plus style and the Lambert style seem very similar to me.

Also it maybe bigoted on my part but no more UK/Irish managers please.

I have had enough I want a modern manager and with very rare exceptions, managers from our country are just not good enough.

There is a reason no British managers have the lead job in the top flight of Germany,Spain & Italy.

I sense we are in real danger of dropping this time and if we do my confidence in us getting back quickly would be nil. I lived through our only other double drop and fear it could be repeated. We have to stay up at all costs so why not get a man in who gets his team organised and difficult to beat? Yes Pulis. A couple of years of his stabilising influence and we might at last be more likely to get a new owner. No one wants to take over a club under annual risk of relegation.
The time for experimenting on young and perhaps foreign coaches is not part way through the season with a limited squad. if we don't make a move for Pulis one of our rivals will, perhaps Sunderland?
