On the plus side our next 12 games are all winnable! On the downside, well, you know the rest.

Where did our goal come from today?

Width....

Why don't we score goals?

No width. With a winger Benteke and Weimann 30 + goals a season - we would be back to Withe / Shaw

Early November and we've scored 3 goals at Villa Park so far and none at the Holte End. Does anyone really want this man to still be our manager?

It's almost Shakespearean how factors pile up against him...but wasn't it Gary Player who said the more he practiced, the luckier he got? Lambert's not unfortunate, he's just not up to it.

Lambert will not change from his narrow football. It will be his ultimate downfall. The danger is when.

After 6 straight defeats its kind of irrelevent how we've played. Worst of all outcomes today. A gut wrenching defeat which leaves Lambert with enough wriggle room to say we played well and are improving whilst also gifting him the excuse that we'll be Bentekeless in the next 3 defeats - I mean matches.

I think if we were going to lose I'd rather it was a routine defeat and the likelyhood of him getting the bullet (I know, silly me) grows.

There nothing going right for us, even the things that go wrong.

The problem isn't Lambert's grotesque ineptitude, it is that the chairman either doesn't realise how hopeless he is, or doesn't care.

At how many other clubs would Lambert still be in charge with his record over two years?

Even this spell alone would have every other manager fearing the sack, but ours just got a new contract.

Lerner is just utterly utterly clueless.

I think it's the latter of the two. He clearly doesn't care else we'd have been rid of the nightmare that is Paul Lambert a long time ago.

He does care but it's more to do with the balance sheet than he team sheet.

Booting Lambert comes at a cost, hiring a new team comes at a cost, investing in new team etc etc etc.

He just wants to sell up and in the meantime spend and do as little as he can get away with.

Yep.  I almost half expect to see Lambert being given a two year extension tomorrow.  You can never have too much stability, after all.

Relegation is going to come at a huge cost.  Repairing the damage done by Lambert is going to take some doing as well.

I wonder if Randy has noticed the dip in attendances yet, er, or cares. We are losing games and money. Not a good recipe for success.

Goals for: 28
Goals against: 61

Shocking !

Time for the 'Villa in crisis' Meaning Evil headline I reckon. I just hope that Tom Fox is more clued up than Lerner or Faulkner and recognizes the anger and frustration and recommends the right course of action. Could give the club a good boost, by appointing a new Manager, almost a 'MON welcome' type boost as its been so very poor for the last three years.
