What did you do there O curious one?   Are the Libertines a band?  Is that a clue?

How many games will we have to lose before Lerner fecking does something?

One. Lose tomorrow and I think even Lerner's patience will be tested.

Pulis might not play brilliant football, but at least it would be effective.

Not with Villa it wouldn't. I don't think we have the physicality the guy needs to create a core, not at present. Maybe with Hutton, Senderos and (at a pinch) Delph in the side, he could have that muscular stamina thing he relied on at Stoke, but at the moment, he's got Benteke, coming back from injury. With a fit squad, Pulis might be effective, but when do Villa ever have a fully fit squad?

Yeah, they did a song called 'Can't Stand Me Now'.

Effective for a couple of seasons until he got money and spent it on average aging players on high salaries. We may have seen that movie before...

Would make us organised and spirited though. That would be an improvement on Lambert's reign of terror

Thanks curious.   I must get rid of these Vera Lynn records.

Not for the Libertines. That would be like getting shut of Paul Lambert, only to end up with Tony Pulis.

If we lose tomorrow he's got to go, hasn't he? I don't think Pulis would be most people's first choice but I think he'd keep us up, and that's what my all my hopes and dreams have been reduced to.

Tony Pullis is indeed the pragmatic choice. Problem is he left Crystal Palace over transfer funds so why would he want to come to Randy Lerner's Villa?

It was more a case of being promised something and then club/board did not follow through. He did a really good job the previous season keeping them and actual making them quite good to watch. In return he expected to be backed in the market and wasn't. Not saying walking out was the right decision, and especially when he did it, but sometimes it is a principle issue.

Palace did well under Pulis but I don't get these comments about them being good to watch. All I can remember of them is being a counter-attacking side that was getting about 30% possession. We don't need to pay out a compensation package to get more of the same thing.

That's where I am too. Never imagined I would want Pulis in but we need to stay afloat until the 'takeover' (should any of us live that long). Going tomorrow as always hoping they win. If, as I expect, we lose then surely he has to go?

Perhaps he's been sounded out for the position of assistant assistant manager. I can imagine those three on a bench - probably the park variety

I'd feel a bit of a donut giving somebody a contract then sacking him a month later.
