Oh how the anger and hurt recedes with time. Monday night Tuesday morning we peaked at 86% sack him now  but today down to 79%. Whilst I want him to go I hope this percentage drops down further Sunday evening.

In other news Everton (Everton?!!) post a profit of nearly £30m.
We seem to be getting it wrong in so many ways.

it's the first time I've ever thought he'd really lost the fans.  This poll compared to the last one and the one before is pretty stark, it's always been 20-30% wanting him out and the rest advocating more time, to flip to 80% wanting him out is significant.  Add in the trending of #lambertout and it doesn't paint a good picture.

That's not actually correct, we've reset the poll a few times, and it has been significantly more than 80 percent wanting him out on a number of occasions.

I don't recall ever seeing it that high other than within the first handful of votes.  Even towards the end of last season it was something like 30-35% sack him now and then another 40-50% sack him in the summer.

Loses 8 in a row and no manager could survive surely. 8 full games on the bounce is mind bogglingly inept.

And in Lambert I'm afraid we have someone seemingly who is that mind bogglingly inept.

As paulie has said there is absolutely no chance he is going to get sacked a month after getting a new 4 year deal. I don't think it will happen even if we lose 10 in a row and don't score, Lerner just doesn't seem to have the appetite for it.

We sold downing and young yet still posted a £50m loss that year. Incredible .

Lerner waiting for a buyer, Lambert waiting for his decisions to bear fruit, the fans waiting for something positive...we're all just going through the motions, having a crap time.

We also had 15-20 players in that squad on 2m-3m p/a which was not sustainable based on transfer fees paid for them and lack of sell on value for all but 4 or 5 of them.

I do remember seeing a majority wanting him out, but at the same time there was a feeling he could pull it round (which he did do). But this time I think people have had enough.

Lambert's new 4 year contract is only beaten by the appointment of his predecessor in terms of stupidity.

I put them on a par. Both ludicrous and inexplicable.

Also - I'm not sure hiring a person with a history of heart disease was all too wise either. That was just plain stupid.

I don't accept the latter, his doctor had given him the all clear to return to work, that's enough to justify it, looking back with hindsight doesn't stop that being true at the point when we took him on.

That's largely what I mean, it felt like most people were willing to give him a bit more time which i don't think is the case now, personally I'm fed up now of seeing the same mistakes, at various points I've given him the benefit of the doubt but that's only the right thing to do for so long and then only if lessons are being learned.  For me it's got the point now where he's given up any pretense of improving the club or developing the style and he's just trying to scrape together enough points to keep us going, safe in the knowledge that when the end finally comes he's going to get a big pay off from someone.  His attitude now matches the club in being stuck in a 'holding pattern' waiting for something to come along and I just can't accept that from a manager.

He was in semi-retirement with the French FA, that should have been more of a warning sign.

I disagree unless Villa commissioned their own Doctors look at him. And by that I mean 2 for independent views. If they did then fair enough - I have never heard that.

We shouldn't do it with a player with a history of injuries. Although I suppose we did with Jenas but that is indicative of the amateurs we have become.
