Remember when we were all convinced last season's final game against Spurs would be Lambert's last game in charge?  Seems strange to think back on that now.

Yes, we were wrong then and we'll be wrong now - whatever the score.

Are you saying he may get the sack then as the vast majority have said that he will keep his job regardless ?

The apathy has been injected into us over the last 3 seasons, in small enough doses for it not to be fought against, but I believe that has now changed, it is a slow change, but I think the mood on here since Monday shows that, also look at Dave Woodhalls piece for the press on Monday night.
No one wants to hound anyone out of Villa Park, I do not get the "He is a nice bloke"angle, if he was he would have had the decency to walk by now, but enough is enough.
The support needs to leave everyone in no doubt on Sunday that this is not working, it is on the TV so straight away Lerner can not ignore it, that also then helps to make it a national story, then our part is to phone crap Radio Talk ins, use Social Media and kick up such a stink that someone as deaf as Lerner even hears.
Part 2 then has to be to hit Lerner where it hurts, boycott games, do not buy club merchandise and if you do go to the games, do not purchase anything club related, i.e. food and drink.
Left to Lerner and Lambert we are walking towards to abyss, the only people who are going to effect this in any way now is the supporters.
Leave the players alone, but give Lambert and Lerner even if he is not there loads from minute one, time for the anthem WE WANT OUR VILLA BACK

I wonder what he's like on ecstacy?

I thought it was our best performance of the season. Cracking stuff. 1.5/10.

I'll be outside VP on Sunday with a drone. The ones with guns.

I personally have had every ounce of passion kicked out of me over the last 5 years or so. I sat still on Monday night, watching but not reacting to the inevitable defeat unfolding. Where once I would have been screaming and shouting in frustration, I now sit resigned to this is how it is and how it will be for the foreseeable future. I am convinced that there is the core of a decent team there, the spine of our team which is the basis for any decent team) has quality to it, but as has been said here countless time, we are a half decent team, poorly coached. Subsequently, the green shoots we have in the core of the team are simply unable to grow.

I sense a real hopelessness with Villa fans, resigned to this turgid nonsense, immune to the breaking of another ignominious record and with no energy to protest the circumstances we are in. I remember when AVISA was created post FA Cup Final and the impassioned voices to the lost opportunities and the ‘but for one more player’ which those that were there for the first meeting spewed forth. I remember hundreds of fans marching down the Witton Lane pre-Everton match, demanding a change at the top. I honestly don’t believe for a moment now, that anyone would be able to harness this, as the life has been sucked out of us.

No, quite the opposite. He is so secure that I think he could survive two successive relegations.

Just the two?

I'm coming to the conclusion that he wouldn't get the sack even if he killed a close relative of Mr Lerner.

Good post

I was saying this to a fellow villain yesterday who gave up his season ticket after 25 years with a few others

We have been fucked  over by vampire Lambert and his master Lerner, with all life sucked out of us.

We didn't score in that game either (0-3) or the game before (0-4).
So it's 4 goals in the last 12 competitive games. Incredulous he is still our manager.

I'd like to see Moyes in ASAP before someone else gets him. If we lose Sunday surely lambert is gone and we can start again under someone else. Thus giving us adequate time to sort the mess out and avoid another relegation dog fight.

The thing I find most perplexing about this situation - a raft of injuries to key players and a run of corresponding poor results - is the knee jerk stupidity of the resultant gnashing and wailing.  Moyes? Are you mad?  You might as well be calling O'Leary back.

in hindsight I think the protest against  McClaren was what did for it. Randy bowed to fan power and pulled the plug on Dutch Steve when he was his number one choice. He's never forgiven himself, or the fans, for doing so, and that set him on this bewildering, freewheeling managerial misadventure - starting  with the dickey ticker, scaling the heights of hubris and disrespect with TSM, flirting with another of SAF's acolytes, and a Spaniard, before finally alighting on TSM2. It's certainly been a long, strange trip.
