He definitely won't be sacked, but he should be. We've lost 5 on the bounce, which alarmingly isn't that much of a shock for us. We haven't scored in 5 games, which is unforgivable regardless of who you are playing. We also are either 19th or 20th in the league in possession, goals scored and probably goal difference now. We play awful, dull and uninspiring football with no success. It's remarkable that his job doesn't appear to be under threat.

Burnley palace and Leicester

Massive three games

He will need seven points if any chance of staying up .

Burnley, Palace and leicester have a bit of fight in them

I'd have Pullis over Lambert at the drop of a hat.  Pullis knows what a team and its squad is capable of.  At Stoke he had players who were physical and played to their strengths.  At Palace he had players who were quick, energetic and played to their strengths.

He'd suss out from the off that we do not have players who are capable of playing it through the middle and would play them in a formation to bring out the best of their abilities.

The problem with that is for the most part we haven't seen anything to suggest we're capable of playing like that.

Grinding out another season in 15th, with the squad he has, isn't acceptable.

Acceptable for who though?  Maybe not for the fans, but I suspect owner, manager and players would find it more than acceptable.

It is going to be acceptable to Randy, I suspect.

I understand that it costs Randy money to sack Lambert, Keane etc, etc, but what I was getting at was that this squad of players is a hell of a lot better than we're showing now.

We have probably the best striker we've had since Dwight Yorke and we are so inept, we struggle to create chances. Lerner could easily still be jobbing it, but with the team being five or six places higher up the league.

Can't disagree - as long as he doesn't wear a cap and tracksuit

I'll have zero sympathy for Lerner if he has to sack Lambert and pay the compo.  It was a dumb decision to give him the 4 years and I'll laugh at him if he has to make a payout.

It can come off the cost of someone buying the club.

A fool and his money..........

As much as Lambert is starting to drain the life out of me i'm not ready to start wanting the baseball cap wearing twat nozzle at the club.

I'm not that much of a Pulis fan either but if I remember rightly, Palace played some half decent stuff last season in fairness.

I hated his Stoke team, but I don't mind him as a person. His football was pretty soul destroying and he spent a fortune, so its a no from me too.

I used to really look forward to watching Villa, be that going to the ground or watching on TV. I then went through a phase of dreading it but still putting up with it. However now I'm sliding towards apathy, like if I miss seeing a game it's a case of 'meh'. It makes me sad to think that the last 5 years have just drained my enjoyment of football out of me.

I heard part of his post match mumblings on the BBC sports summary this morning.
Did he really say something along the line of 'stat's mean nothing to me'.

Forgive me, but isn't understanding stats (all kinds) a major part of the game nowadays and pretty fundamental to a managers skillset.
Analysis of stats will show your weak and strong points. Where you can do better, where you have a consistent problem...etc etc.

I think I know what he was trying to say, but maybe he'd be better if he just acknowledged that the performance was shite (again) rather than appearing to be a fucking arrogant, footballing dinosaur.
Out of his depth and hopefully, soon out of our club

To be fair, if I was him and had the stats he has 'achieved' in his time at the club I would be trying to claim that stats don't mean anything.

I would sack him now. I don't feel he is ever going to change and that he is wasting an opportunity to have us playing better and more attacking football.

Agreed - the 4 year contract he was recently given is looking like an even worse decision than appointing McLeish - and that is something that I never, ever would have thought I would have said.

It's soul destroying at the minute - I take my hat off to every one of the travelling support last night. I looked at the game and couldn't be arsed to go.

Just heard him on R5. Apparently he's not concerned about the lack of goal as we have players who can score them (although he failed to acknowledge they haven't done so in the last 5 games). He thinks it's more important to defend well when we're on top (although again he failed to acknowledge that our defence has conceded 13 in those 5 games). So that's OK then.
