He has not improved over his time here, there is no progress...we are just circling the drain every season. Yes we have issues with the owner...but he should be doing better. Lose vs Spuds...he has to go.

I heard part of his post match mumblings on the BBC sports summary this morning.
Did he really say something along the line of 'stat's mean nothing to me'.

Forgive me, but isn't understanding stats (all kinds) a major part of the game nowadays and pretty fundamental to a managers skillset.
Analysis of stats will show your weak and strong points. Where you can do better, where you have a consistent problem...etc etc.

I think I know what he was trying to say, but maybe he'd be better if he just acknowledged that the performance was shite (again) rather than appearing to be a fucking arrogant, footballing dinosaur.
Out of his depth and hopefully, soon out of our club

I am very interested to see if he changes things and tries to inject a bit of dynamism into us ahead of Spurs. They, probably along with Newcastle, are an ideal side to play at the moment. Lambert has got to demonstrate some flexibility and set us up with a genuine plan of how to get at Spurs.

I think we need to win, but I actually wouldn't mind if we ended up losing having seen the side really attack them and create genuine opportunities that the players at his disposal are capable of, as I think if we do that, we'll end up winning in any event.

I was half asleep but I heard that too. He is right in that in the end it is results that matter. Unfortunately for him results are shite.

The problem with that is for the most part we haven't seen anything to suggest we're capable of playing like that.

Had to look after my Mum (who has dementia) last night while watching that pathetic performance.

Even she could she what was going wrong, and made far more intelligent after match comments.

The problem with that is for the most part we haven't seen anything to suggest we're capable of playing like that.

That's the concern, that Lambert is so much more worried these days about losing than trying to win a game, that we will spread 5 across the midfield and let Spurs come onto us, when they're ripe for the plucking if you get after them.

If that turns out to be the case, then it is very depressing and he will confirm that he isn't the manager we saw at Norwich. Grinding out another season in 15th, with the squad he has, isn't acceptable.

The problem stems from Lerner, the lack of funds and the clear instructions of what he wants Lambert to do has seen him withdraw into his shell, from which he will never emerge as I feel it has fossilised around him. As a result, Lambert's job is safe, but even if he were to be sacked, the likes of Moyes won't be interesting in such a difficult task.

Surely he will be fired if we lose to Spurs?

I can not see how he could keep his job after 6 defeats.

Since about Christmas last year I've been in the 'he probably deserves to go but I don't trust the club to bring in anyone better' camp, but last night pushed me over into thinking that it literally couldn't get any worse.

That said, although we'll be in a relegation fight now, I still think we'll have enough to stay up for this season at least.

This is the conclusion I am coming to - I had hopes of some technical German/Dortmund approach but he really is playing Football Manager 2009 with his approach and signings (Bent and Cole) coming on at 2-0 down, laughable.

The description of the regime at Bodymoor Heath by someone who works there was "archaic"

If he was sacked, and he won't be because if he was going to get the boot then it would have come in May, then the replacement will be somebody cheap like Eddie Howe.
