That's another one tbar got horribly wrong then.

I think this might leave the continual imminent changing takeover news they have peddled pretty much dead in the water.

Delighted to see him stay, i've always been a firm backer of his

I'm not quite sure what people were expecting last season and who they thought we could get who'd do a better job. Solskjaer was the man apparently

Yes he made some poor low cost signings and struggled at times, but he managed to keep us up which was a very good job in itself

He's kept a professional at all times, and never said a bad word about the club or fans

He's still young manager who's got the credentials and the track record to get us back into the top 6, he just needs the fans behind him rather than giving him stick like after Leyton Orient

I hope he gets some support after the start to the season we've had.

Given our woeful record under him, he must be laughing his head off over being rewarded for failure.

Stability.

Just a measure of Lerner rewarding a loyal lieutenant I'd say - if nothing else he's just guaranteed Lambert gets a bigger pay-off should he decide to sell any time soon.

Well well well... a manager that wouldn't have been particularly missed had he been sacked in May is now sitting on a nice new deal...

Same questions as per the Hutton deal - what has changed so much in 4 league games to warrant these decisions.

not much, a solid start and the team looks in much better nick defensively this term but its very early days

Lambert last season presided over the worst Villa side since 86/87.

As much as Id like to airbrush over the 30 odd games Hutton played for us previous to this season, its not too long ago either.

Can't see what he's done to deserve this, unless his only remit is to keep Aston Villa in the Premier League. If that's so then he's been a success at the Villa. It's all a bit disheartening though.

Not Roy Keane, though, as he will tell us himself how long he intends to stop for.

Don't mind this too much as long as we keep an open mind should things start going North again.  Lets just see where we are at Christmas is all I am going to say.

Irony overload: the day he signs a new contract, Solskjaer gets the push from Cardiff.

I bet he now regrets the day he turned us down and stayed at Molde.
