Considering every pundit and his dog has been queuing up to say that Lambert was a certainty to be fired and that Roy Keane was only here as his replacement, this is welcome news for that reason at the very least.

Four year contract extension for N'Zogbia next presumably?

Congrats Paul, I think it gives him a bit more security if/when we get a new owner, he has done what the owner wanted and that's maintain our status as a premier club whilst spending next to sweet FA compared to the likes of Hull etc in the last four years.

Debates about the merits of Lambo's deal aside, at least we're getting shit done now. I hope we'll get Delph, Grealish and Vlaar tied down soon.

I thought Grealish signed for 4 years last week?

I do wonder what Matt Kendrick makes of it all though!

So someone has only just now voted to sack him after he's signing a new contract? Right.

EDIT: 2 now! Seriously, who are they and what's their reasoning?

I confess.....just being contrary. It's bit like someone telling me not to press the big red button.

We should give him til Xmas, then get rid if we are out of the top 4. ;-)

Not sure what to make of it to be honest. We've made a great start but we also lost 20 league game last season. I suppose if it encourages the likes of Delph and Vlaar to sign up as well it might be worth it but it's another one i didn't see coming, well not yet anyway.

What is his new job title, chief sports writer or somesuch? Would have thought that this would still entail some dealings with the club?

Its actually the perfect time to do it. I assume this was the plan all along and the club has just been waiting for a decent run of form to formalize it.

Kendrick is a true fan. But he and lambert don't mix. Best they stay apart.

contracts like this are window dressing in the end. We are all waiting on the big three to commit. Manager contracts are broken all of the time, so if Randy does sell then the new bloke will decide whether Lambert is worthy of retaining. It shows a degree of new found stability that a CEO is in place and contracts are being addressed.

Well well well... a manager that wouldn't have been particularly missed had he been sacked in May is now sitting on a nice new deal...

Same questions as per the Hutton deal - what has changed so much in 4 league games to warrant these decisions.
