I think we should sack him now. Catch him off guard when he least expects it.

Ah revisionism how I love thee.
Typical football, all is great now, part of the plan etc. Til next week.

10 points out of 12 is always likely to result in people reassessing their position on the manager. It's still very early days, and he's a long way to go to make up for what's gone one before, but it's an encouraging start.

Lambert, last year, presided over one of the worst-managed seasons of all time. He's gone away, learned from his mistakes, hired better coaches than the small-time bullies who clung to him until last year, and constructed a coherent style of play which has been achieved thanks to what was always his strongest suit, namely unexpected bargain signings. Everyone can improve - I dare say the first time I tried to walk I didn't look too impressive, but I appear to have learned from my mistakes in those early years, and can now make it all the way down the street. Lambert hasn't learned to run as a manager yet, but he's certainly learned to walk.

I still want him held to account for dropping those 2 points, just not good enough

Here's a deal, I'll pretend I always thought he was going to turn out OK, and in return I'll let you all off the dog's abuse I got for suggesting Roy Keane a year or so ago! ;)

Hardly? Not many have actually flooded this thread. A few have, me included and I have never turned on him. I've been pissed off many times in the last couple of seasons and at times perplexed. I have always said though that the job at hand has been immensely difficult and no one else would have done any better or actually wanted to either.

Let's not forget the Leyton Orient disaster. We've had a great start in the league, but it's gonna take a lot more for me to want him to stay.

Serious question.

At some point last season I jokingly said something along the lines of "he'd have to win the league / FA cup / CL treble 10 years on the bounce, whilst giving us the pleasure of seeing relegation for Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle confirmed in front of the Holte End in the next 3 years to get people back on side"

So assuming the improvement continues, what would he have to do to be forgiven for all of the negative records over the last two years? (making a hypothetical assumption that he's still here next season and beyond)

Mid table mediocrity for a couple of years on the current budget?
Qualify for the Europa league 2-3 years running?
Qualify for the Champions League?
Win the League Cup?
Win the FA cup?
Win the League?

Doesn't matter what  - nothing can expunge Chelsea, 15-0 in three games, Bradford, 10 home league defeats in one season?

Oops.  Last bit was supposed to be a question, not a personal opinion :-[

Not ready to change my opinion of him yet.
But what I see now is a totally different team from the last 2 seasons and if this continues those responsible for this change have my full support.

I voted that we should keep him. I knew things would turn out fine.

Here's to our easy win over Arsenal.
