he's come up short as a  Villa manager and it would be no different at Celtic.
Stick a green and white badge on a traffic cone and it would win the league with Celtic.

Finally. I've been waiting for weeks for an opening!
A while back, possibly Fulham, my weak-bladdered brother was, as ever, late back to his seat after half-time refreshment. On this occasion, unusually late.
"Where you been?"
"Chatting"
"Who to?"
"Steward"
"What about?"
"Lambert. He reckons Lennon's already lined up".

Just saying.

Just saying what??

Wet blankets wasn't a reference to you, so my apologies, wires seem to have been crossed. I was however reiterating what you'd said about reappraisal without directly quoting you.

I didn't want to name names, it's understandable most of us are worried, but it gets tiresome hearing from the rare few in here who can't bring themselves to possibly say a good word about the club.
lol
The Club, the colours, the badge, the stadium and fans are permanent and a class apart from the temporary people, the owners, the manager and the players, who become associated with us. Never criticise the former and expect highest standards from the latter or they can go forth and multiply.

it will be interesting to see how the club and Lambert handle matters if Celtic do approach him. I know he has shown his loyalty to the cause but it would be difficult for him to turn down given his strong ties there.

I'd wager money he won't go to Celtic. Their current Manager looks to be jumping ship to join a Championship Club because he's unhappy with the transfer-kitty he's been given. He'll stay at Villa until we're taken over in the hope that the buyers will keep him on, give him some money to spend, and he can turn our fortunes around and iron out the current crease in his CV.

I'd put money on that being his plan.

Ironic that a man that couldn't plan a game of table football is tactically playing a blinder when it comes to self preservation. Decent fella that he is, I'm shocked that so many are giving him the sympathy vote.Lerner has obviously promised him a large pay off once there's a takeover.

My guess is he'll take a year off, traveling around Europe watching teams training before coming back and promising the world to whoever is willing to pay for his genius. Either that or he'll go to Leeds, providing they have some money to spend.

People are very quick to forget that he was tactically quite astute at Norwich, or at least had a reputation for being so.

A couple of his own, well interviewed and well selected assistant managers with an emphasis on the attacking side of the game, he can still be an excellent manager, I really believe that.

Part of me would love to see it at Villa park, with a bit of money, but think there is too much under the bridge for him here.

Despite witnessing low after low at the club and constantly calling for his head. I think after finding out what was going on behind the scenes I wouldn't be too upset if he was given a go by a new owner.
Perhaps I'm gullible and have fallen for his PR but I do admire that he has kept his nerve.
There has been lots wrong with time in charge but things do change in football and I'm sure he's more aware of the team's failings than most.

He is saying that one of the perks of being a steward is you get inside ITK direct from the Board.

So Lennon to Fulham and then Lambert perhaps to Celtic.

Kind of makes sense. I still have a hard time shaking this feeling Lambert is actually a very good manager and that will become apparent very soon. Then again I have that same feeling about Tonev so there is that.

Any co-incidence that it's been reported that Lerner wants to sell our four best players. Where did that bit of news come from?

Tbh, I dunno why I put it out there. Given developments over the last week or so, it now seems an almost nonsensical conclusion. As a rumour, it would have had a little more credence at the time it was said, as I recall it was around the time that Johan Mjallby resigned.

It's all very confusing. All threads  to do with Club/Manager/owners look similar. So to help us here we could with merging these 5 topics into a "Mega worry Thread"!
The Current Lack of a Takeover
Current state of affairs
The Paul Lambert
Fans worried about the future
