Kozak is a decent player. Put in on the deck in front of him and he will bring others into play.

He finds room in the box and will run all day. Some of the comments about him are ridiculously misery arsed.

Perhaps if we stopped trying to twat it from back to front we might get more from him.

I remember watching the WBA match; we were 2-0 down, and Kozak controlled a long goal kick (obviously) from Guzan instantly, bringing it down and then hitting a first time volley which nicked the top of the crossbar. I thought then that he's got a bit about him.

I could be wrong but didn't Benteke flick the ball on to Kozak from Guzan's goal kick?

Sorry, yes - Benteke flick on. Still a good take though and sound technique with the volley.

I'm sure Kozak will improve but I think he'd score between 5 and 10 league goals maximum personally.
Bowery on the other hand is absolutely shit.

IMHO, any decent midfielder should be aiming for 5-10 goals never mind a 7m striker. If that's all we think he's going to score then surely it doesn't say much about him

Precisely.

Have a look how many strikers scored 15 league goals this season, you'd be surprised.

10-15 is a pretty good return for premier league strikers these days.

10-15 is good for a striker these days, there's only 6 players outside of the top 6 who scored more than 10 last season and 1 of them was Van Persie.

Agreed. I also like the .. I dunno.. positioning presence he has. He is one of those players who I always notice he is on the pitch because he is getting into positions that I am hoping a Villa player will be in.

Not keen on lambert but I think he now has an impossible job on his hands. If someone else comes in for him I think he will be off in a shot.

Listen at minute 3
"The NEW people understand the situation" then mumbles over what he's just said!?
Can't make out if he's referring to players or what?

It's always tricky deciphering precisely what he's saying, and it might be the power of suggestion/desperation but it DOES sound like that.

It sounds to me like he says 'But now people know the situation.'

I agree with this. In fact, I'd say he's a bit better than decent, really, and very useful to the way that Lambert seems to want us to play. He'd be even more useful, I bet, if the ball was played in to him on the ground (as CL says). I think he'd be very effective as part of a two-striker system, too, particularly alongside (an on form) Weimann.

I like Kozak. What didn't help him was the perception that what we really needed instead was a creative midfielder. Which we did.

God, that's true. I do think Kozak's pretty good, but we didn't need him at the time. He'll be handy to have around in the future, though.

Don't see how him and Benteke could play together mind. It's one or the other really

I think they could be very effective together if we had a lot of runners from midfield, basically Benteke as the target man and dragging defenders out of position playing in the midfield to find either of them in the box, both are very good at finding room to get a shot away.  Weimann and Gabby could play well with either as well and provide something else, its only really Gabby and Weimann together that I don't like as a partnership.
