I'm sure there's a way of the club putting a bit of positive spin on the whole thing though. "This is an exciting time of transition for the whole club and, while uncertain, we'll be doing everything we can to add new recruits to the playing staff for the immediate term", etc.

"With record-breaking manager Paul Lambert's future secured, we can look forward another exiting season of trying to do a bit bitter than last year"

Glad Albrighton is out if we do strengthen but not really holding my breath. Still, it will be difficult to strengthen for many reasons. players waiting to see what we do, agents likewise, teh World Cup meaning everyone is on holiday or waiting for the WC to finish to see fi they're in a better bargaining position, clubs after the better 'frees' and wages they'd command. It goes on. Being difficult to strenghten doesn't mean it won't happen or as quick as we'd like.

Code Puce:

TheShrubs has confirmed that the private jet of Flywheel, Shyster, and Flywheel has landed at BHX. Waldorf T. Flywheel and and Emmanuel Ravelli have booked into a penthouse suite at the Radisson Blu.

Things are really moving now.

That is just sarcasm innit. I am off to TBARF where they know everything.

I thought there must have been another weird announcement... nope as you were.

Not seen the Albrighton news, but he's hardly Pele. I wont lose much sleep.

This is going to have a massive impact on season ticket sales and merchandise sales. And not in a good way

I didn't think Albrighton was that popular.

Well I loved him.

He makes me want to be a better man.

You are perfect, please don't change

I fear we may be pushing our luck too far with this. It's hard to be positive when faced with another season watching Clarke and Baker.

One decent Centre Half (Lescott), one decent creative midfielder (Modric), one goalpoacher (Bent) and retaining our other decent players, would see us through to mid table.

I'd probably class Modric a bit more than 'decent'. I admire your chutzpah nonetheless.

Hoolahan? The Norfolk Modric.

Need a left back too if Bertrand goes back and Luna is moved on.

It's interesting that Lambert said he wanted to get 'proven players' in, that's at least a bit encouraging.

Is he finally admitting that The Project was a total failure? no more young, hungry, shit signings?

Are you kidding? We have almost no attacking quality left, lambert has alienated about half the squad and there are going to be very little funds to attract players to a circus of a club which is proving career suicide for almost anyone who comes here.
I think you may live to regret that comment

Basically yes.

To be fair, the mantra altered a while back, he was saying as much towards the arse end of the season.

Surprised Albrighton is going, he looked the only player likely to get crosses in, did we ever see him with Benteke and Kozac?

I think Lambert's statement was pretty good to be fair, and covers off what needed to be said.
