Am I missing something here? Like this story being reported by a single media outlet.

All over the back page of the Daily Planet.
And they have been working hard throughout the day and night for us to bring us that news.

'Working Tirelessly' was the official line.

Randy likes Lambert a lot, so I don't think he was called to NY to be fired.
Also, I'm pretty sure that his last statement was made knowing that there would be the need to etch a plan whereby first and foremost, Lambert comes out clean (constrictions/ working in very difficult circumstances etc).

I reckon Lambert  went to NY to be told that he will have the remainder of his contract paid in full, with a nice little bonus for keeping us up.

Randy lets him resign knowing new owners want their own people in and it keeps Lambert's CV still intact.

I worked for newspapers for years and always dreamed of being interviewed by LL wearing next to nothing. Never happened, but without divulging specific names, I did attend an interview with a London based Advertising & PR Agency once when the Account Director interviewing me was fondling his secretary throughout. Ah, the 1980s, they were the days!

Is there an official date for the season to be over? Perhaps its all a formality with just the paperwork to sign...

I've seen this on Twitter should I be worried?.We are hearing Paul Lambert held a high  level meeting today. The meeting was explosive. Not looking good. #AVFC

sounds serious but surely a tad premature? The big reveal is not before 2.30pm tomorrow BST. BTW several journalists reported the 2.30 thing. It wasn't an Admin pronouncement

I'm sure if any journo has a lead no matter how small they'd be all over it, always been about getting the 1st exclusive. The silence apart from interesting week snippets is deafening.

agreed but this is Villa we are talking about. Randy isn't known for his willingness to indulge in media relations. He personifies Cards close to chest .

Yes but people are on about what nick mashiter has said, all I'm saying is if he knows anything don't you think he'd of put it in the paper, would only enhance his career if turned out to be true.

but ( and this is a wind up) you are forgetting the embargo. Lots of emphasis being put on the embargo by other forums, wink wink

The sensible conclusion is that he's spoken to a contact at the club and they've told him there will be a press announcement tomorrow.  He can't write a story about that but he can post something on twitter.

So if we announce tomorrow that we are still carrying on with the on-going process, does that count for ITKers as proof that they are ITK?
