Sidwell will be linked with any mid to lower table side now, he has scored 8-9 league goals from midfield and been Fulham's best player all season, so hardly a shock he will get linked. Plus he would be pretty low cost. If the takeover proves to be fanciful and we are looking at cheap buys still, he might actually not be a bad one.

More effective player at this level than Westwood and KEA to be fair.
That said, if we've got a bit to spend I'd want more ambition. If we're still on a budget then we could probably do worse, as long as we're sensible about what sort of contract he has.
Good ball boy.

He could at least teach the rest of the squad how to take a decent feckin throw-in. ;)

the Galtier link's been discredited now. He's tailor-made for the Jawdies

Good luck today Paul in your last game for the club. I'd like to say it's been nice having you about but it hasn't. Adios.

And thanks for leaving us with a load of players we won't be able to shift easily!

It shows you how far Lambert's stock has fallen. Normally at this point, the refrain is 'who could come in and do a better job?'. Now the assumption is that pretty much anybody could.

Bloody hell, what are you on about. We have a squad that cost bugger all. The only players that cost a few quid are worth now than they were before. I bet we would make a profit on Bowery, Westwood, Bacuna, Benteke, Okore and Bennett. There is no long contracts and no big wages and to be honest I still don't think we're that far off a bad team. A bit more experience which would mean a bit of help financially on wages and Lambert might have turned it around. He  might not of either.

He'll do alright and learn from this but his numbers up here, he's made more and more mistakes as the seasons progressed from tactics, not knowing his best line up and also allowing those clowns who were his friends and allies to much control, which ultimately you have to blame Lambert for that.

Good luck in the future Lambert and I'm gutted it didn't work for Villa.

Agreed, the squad Lambert assembled had basically cost fuck all. We'd get slightly more than that now but it'd still come to he sum total of slightly more than fuck all.

If it is his last game, his squad would be the first in a long time that you could sell tomorrow for a considerable profit, so yes, thank you for reducing the wage bill considerably, thank you for leaving us with a forward worth 25 million, a keeper worth 10 that had been grossly over looked, a decent international centre half signed for peanuts that you could sell, despite our troubles for double the cost, and a splattering of players with potential between. Your biggest issue was needing 5 older heads to mix in and integrate and a better tactical outlook, but thanks for the good games, the bad were shocking and good luck in the future.

Lambert gets Villa, and genuinely cares for the club. I hope he is really successful in the future.

This squad is still worth peanuts compared to what is required spend wise to get us looking at a top 6 spot.

I've been looking in on oddschecker occasionally over the last few weeks and quite a few bookies have been offering odds on all the usual suspects until today.................http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/aston-villa/next-permanent-manager
I wonder what they know that we don't.

Moyes,Klinsmann,RDM and Mackay all 5-1
Say we do get new owners I can see Klinsmann
If Lerner stays then I think Moyes is nailed on
