Has this club ever been in such a limbo as it is right now?

Yes, I'd say from around the 9th of August 2010, when we managed to sign a massive waste of oxygen without a manager in place.

Yep that's when I knew we were trouble. Buying and selling players without a manager at the club is a sign something serious is up.

We are still no closer to discovering who sanctioned that decision, which must have cost the club over £12 million at least.

Would you own up to that? I'd be whistling and walking away with my hands in my pocket.

I can understand that, but considering the penny pinching since then, it was an absolute waste and a stupid mistake made by people with no footballing nous.

That just about sums up the Villa over the last 4 or so years.

It's the consistent flipping of his aims that boils my piss
One minute he's saying we would no way be involved in a relegation battle after last year, then says we're only looking up at 10th onwards and catching Southampton.
Now not being relegated is success and oh how well he's done to keep us up.
I cannot wait to see the back of this muppet

I think that's the clearest hint he expects to get the sack, to be honest.

I just can't see Randy dismissing Lambert unless he's leaving as well.

Even if Randy stays (which I don't think he will) with the reasons they got rid of AM, they almost, can't not sack Lambert

If Randy stays then he needs to properly back whoever is the manager, otherwise we're in the deckchairs on the Titanic scenario.

didn't TSM even suggest he was already planning for next season days before he go the heave-ho?

He was saying it explicitly post-match after Norwich let alone days before he got the Spanish Archer.

Exactly.  "This team hasn't played how I wanted it to, but next season I will have it looking like a true Alex McLeish side."   *shudder*

But look at last week's statement.

It didn't just praise Lambert, it was effusive about what a great job he's done.

There's no way he'd go out of his way to make a statement like that only to sack the bloke two weeks later.

I reckon if Lambert goes it must be because Lerner is going too.

superficially true, but I think you might have to read between the lines. I still think he was very lucky not to be suspended alongside the Tweedles; the precariousness of our league position was enough to keep him in post but if the allegations are true,  as their line manager, he must take responsibility. As much as it's idiotic to claim that PF knows nothing about a potential takeover, it's equally unlikely that Lambert knew nothing about the antics of his assistants.

I would agree, especially as Villa is not the first club that Culverhouse & Karsa operated in this manner.

one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard him say. You'd honestly think from that statement that he was only allowed free transfers the last two years while cutting the wage bill. It's truly shit to think that at the end of tomorrow there is every chance we'll finish in 17th spot, given that Hull and West Brom have home games and we're playing Spurs away. I didn't expect to be playing Bayern next season but certainly not so close to playing Blackpool.
