I don't really want Moyes, but you would know what you are getting at a club the size of ours. In time he'd make us into a very solid if unspectacular team with a good home record. The football/tactics would be good at times but overall underwhelming. The question is what is his level of motivation? How much has the last 9 months damaged him? It wouldn't be the end of the world. If Randy stays then he'd be a solid appointment. If someone else takes over with some money it would be a case of couldn't we have done better or something different?

A few years of solid would be a welcome break from 4 years of struggle.

Moyes would be an  unspectacular appointment. That said I think the relegation scraps would come to an end sooner rather than later.

I wouldn't question his motivation, in fact I think he would very determined to prove his detractors wrong but the football on display wouldn't be great and we can write off games v The Big Teams Sky Super Duper Sunday Monday Bashers.

He'd be a step up on what we currently have (and have had recently) - the downside, other than known limitations, which shouldn't be a factor but nags me is the Docherty/McNeill/McLeish/Lambert succession of failed Scottish managers.

No argument there. But there are up and coming managers out there that play a brand of football that is appealing to the eye that would love to come to the PL. It would be nice if one of them ended up with us. Moyes would keep us at the upper end of the table, and he may have a point to prove after everything that went on at Man U. It's just feels like another McLeish/Lambert, just a better version. Still you're right in that fighting relegation everywhere is something none of us want ever again.

I most definitely do not want Moyes. Especially if money is available. The first thing he would do would be to solve a problem for ManU and buy Fellaini. Fuck that.

Appointing Moyes means that would put us somewhere lower than Everton season after season. Sod that. We may as well bring O'Neill back.

I have been told to put my money on Moyes as his replacement.

That would be very underwhelming. We need a continental manager from spain, netherlands or germany IMO, and Moyes is just another manager from UK who has hit the glass ceiling.

Agreed.

I also think Moyes would be a step back. AT least with Lambert he is capable of making a tactical surprise (although sometimes on his own team it seems). Moyes is predictable. Go out wide and bang crosses into the box. No thank you.

Would be a vast improvement on Lambert but we need to go a different route, I think.

I'd look at it more as an unnecessary step sideways than back.

Lots of fans say that after a period of struggle. They often change their minds after the first 'solid' season. See in particular Ham, West.

I agree TV

If randy stays , I would take Moyes over PL all day long but also would be disapointed Randy is staying and the big money owner is not coming in , to get us a top continental manager .

If we get taken over getting Moyes would be like having the budget for a Ferrari and going out and buying a Toyota.

I wouldn't assume it'll be on sunday.

He just said after the season ends, that could be any time, I guess.
Someone will have to tell him the season has ended, he has been in his bunker for most of the season, even his private pilot had to put in the code on his planes satnav to find BHX.

If we are taken over I'd hope for someone a bit more imaginative than Moyes.
