140 years? Seriously?

Yes. As in, ever, in our history.

And that's just league matches. Throw in a proper bumming in the cup from a League One side and it looks even worse.

Shocking.

The fairy on that rock cake of dross is that the bumming we took from the League 1 side denied us a Wembley final.

Add to that bumming the triple bumming of 15-0 in three league games.

For all that Paul Lambert is guilty of during his time with us; he will probably be remembered more for the shafting we took from Bradford than anything else.  That will always be held against him.

Back to Lambert . . .

If he goes, who do people want. Assuming we don't have some oligarch or richest man in the world type in charge, I think many of the main candidates are concerning: pulis (style concerns), pardew, Clarke, Lennon, allardyce.

I still think Moyes might want to return a bit higher up. Otherwise we're looking at unproven at this level (rosler?) or abroad which is always a risk.

I know most people want Lerner and lambert to go, and not without reason. But there are some pretty big risks on both sides there.

I'd go for Nigel Adkins before anyone listed here. However assuming there is a takeover I'd see if we could tempt Poyet.

There's some pretty big risks in them staying, not least of which is relegation next season

We've been dire in the past, gone down a division or two, but worse than that? With fewer games?

I really like him, think he has had a terrible job description and now want him to go as far away as possible please. Good luck.

140 years? Good grief.

Well yes it's bad. But we didn't play as many games for quite a chunk of that 140 so it's a stat like saying we hadn't beaten The Shit in the league for 20 years until Wor Kev (I think t'was he).

To be worse over seasons with fewer games suggests a greater index of incompetence, doesn't it?
I could be missing something, peter w. It's entirely possible.

No idea what you did, there, but I am thinking about it.
The rest of you, carry on about Yvonne.

Say we do get taken over and money is available for top players, could Lambert even manage them? So far, he's looked after players coming from lower leagues and young and inexperienced/relatively unknown players. You can't imagine too many of them being much of a challenge.

Except, we didn't go down (somewhat miraculously),
Don't get me wrong: the record this season has been truly awful. And, it is time for a change.

But, we didn't get relegated.

He's played in a side that won the champions league so I imagine he must have some idea what it would take.
