I'm with Saunder's Heroes on this. One win that keeps us up and too many people are seeing the world through rose coloured spectacles all of a sudden.

Great day yesterday, abs loved it, was the last to leave the ground, massive relief etc etc.

But wake up and smell the coffee please. Our team is shite. Our squad is shite.

Saunders_heroes problem is that he just takes it too far. Yes, he's right, the squad is fucking abysmal. To suggest that Guzan is "average", though, is taking it too far.

Absolutely. If he was 'average', we probably wouldn't still be in this division.

There's lots of average players in the PL it doesn't mean that every team with average players would be relegated. Guzan is a solid keeper, but he's nothing special.

Absolute scathing report in the Express about our absent landlord. The reporter even suggested he'd make a good silent movie star! Feel sorry in some respects for Lambert at being totally in the dark - where's the communication Lerner? What use is the General on our board of directors? I can see why sir Graham is angry at the running of our great club....the sooner this regime fucks off the better.

The Express is angry about everything. Or scathing, or afraid.

Nothing to do with reality, just, find the worst possible interpretation of something and reframe what little they know to suit.

At least you've upgraded him from "bog standard" to solid.

Maybe so, but look at the perception of our club grom the National media. Just accept that Lerner is no good for this club anymore - 4 years of torture...

I find it quite interesting what a win against a very distracted Hull City has done for Lambert's standing. The pro's have roughly doubled.

That's rhe problem with polls because they will change very often. We win our last two games and the numbers will be totally different. We lose them, as expected, and then it will probably via back to the negative for those who are willing to give him time.

If Lambert goes at the end of the season it will be a bit like the countless number of jokes about three wishes from a genie in a bottle. "Give us a team capable of challenging the top four". We got exactly that. It's a pity we said nothing about beating the other 15 teams as well.

Not so sure Peter.  We had a good run at the end of Houllier's reign (albeit under McAllister) yet the wins against Arsenal and Liverpool did little to appease the general feeling that they should have gone.

How many new owners have sacked the manager as soon as they have bought a club?

Not unfeasible that we will start with him next year.

SH re Guzan - is the definition of good for a keeper not solid? Watching other keepers there are very few I would swap him fot simply because he is so consistent. He saves more than he should and rarely makes mistakes. Considering he is still relatively young keeper wise I think we are lucky to have him. He takes a cross well too.

Guzan is comfortably one of the best keepers in the league.

He is an excellent shot stopper, communicator and he dominates his penalty area. His kicking and distribution of late has resembled a bit of the Bosnich, but it doesn't alter the fact that Guzan is comfortably a top 6 goal keeper and the best keeper we have had since the brilliant Aussie.

And he hasn't reached his peak yet and won't for another few years.
