Thanks Paul, sorry it didn't work out, leave the keys to your car on the desk.

Absolutely. No excuse at all for leaving him in position now.

He's certainly not been able to do exactly what he wants. However, none of this changes the fact that what he has done has largely been catastrophic.

Such as fix the club's catastrophic wage bill without relegating us? Lambert clearly had a financial remit from Lerner, and that has been a huge success. That financial limitations have clearly not helped Lambert. Added to the fact that out of all the money he has spent about £15million of it is tied up in three injured players – Benteke significantly struggling with injury this year. Until six games ago we looked like we'd finish much better than last season, but it's not been so neat and tidy – not everything always goes your way. I'm talking about injuries mostly.

We were terrible before he came. He stays for me, and I think he will stay. No more buying cheap hopeful punts from abroad though. We need some quality.

Need money. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, or at least very few can. Another manager with the same finances will more than likely just mean more of the same.

This is everything. I think people writing Lambert off are missing the point slightly.

The problem is that, even with the spending controls, and even with the injuries, he has still given us week after week of tactical confusion, half arsed players, hopeless long balls, and a general sense that we don't know what we are doing.

That is just not good enough.

And that's before even getting on to the question of whether, when Okore was injured so quickly, it made sense to not buy a CB in January. Or whether 7m on another striker rather than a grown up midfielder in the summer was a good idea.

I was totally in support of him this time last year, because I thought despite the results, he had progressed us. In the summer, we spent awfully on untried crap, and this season there has been absolutely no progress on the pitch. In fact, we have looked considerably worse.

He only has himself to blame, I'm afraid.

30 plus people are trying but you cannot defend the indefensible. A win over the might of Hull City to ensure survival cannot be allowed to disguise how unpardonably awful this season has been. Enough. Mumbles - do one

I don't think it matters where the cheap hopeful punts come from, abroad or here.

As for fixing the wage bill, well, that was Lerner as you say. That you think it's a success for Lambert to do this without getting us relegated I think betrays somewhat low expectations, not least considering how god damn close we have come to getting relegated. He's done this while largely boring the pants off everyone with largely sterile football, with added tactical inadequacies like the extraordinary Bradford debacle. I hope I don't have to run through all the remarkable lows Lambert has brought about unnecessarily throughout his tenure. He's not shown anything like enough and I find it rather amazing that anyone should think he has, unless they haven't watched a single non-Villa match for the last ten years to see what football can actually look like.

Is there really a need for the puerile "mumbles" nonsense?

I'm not missing any point. I know a hoofball merchant when I see one, whatever the financial strictures.

When Lambert said 'we need those sort of players' in reference to Lescott, Holtby and Hernandez, that is true but we don't just need to look in the Premier League. We can sign players from foreign leagues, they just need to be quality players who are proven.

The way I look at it is a new owner could give Lambert a chance and fuck him off by Christmas if it's not working out. But the important part is the new owner(s).

This is where we're at. He's gambling on bargain buys for a top half finish. Which decent manager will sign up for this?

It's not indefensible though. Otherwise why would we still be arguing?

Sheff United, Millwall Bradford, worst home record ever. His direct reports suspended for bullying and hooofball.

Awful manager, one of our worst ever and ranks alongside Turner and Mcneil for awfulness.

He has to go.
