Boring old fart alert.   My mate sold his house to Curbishley.   In order to doll the property up he "borrowed" a load of my best carp to put in the pond in the garden.   He sold the house, Curbs moved in but I never got my fish back.   If he does come to VP the first letter he gets on his desk is a bill for my koi carp.

The danger there Brian is that Alan 'interesting' Curbishley might want to call you in for a chat, and bore you into oblivion.

Let him have the fish, for the love of God.

we could probably do worse than Curbishley to stabalise us.

I'm going for a walk. I may be some time.
I will come and join you. Curbishley for crying out loud.

Me too. Curbs and "his " carp should be nowhere near our club.
How about just the carp? Still an upgrade on Lambert.

How about 'Billy The Singing Bass' he could do the media interviews as well.

Cod you all just desist.

I think Alan has fallen from the managerial perch a while ago.

I don't think bruce is a great manager based on this season any more than MON was when he first went to Sunderland or mcleish was when he won the cup. There will always be other teams and managers to covet at a given time. I'd just like a new manager that isn't either a WTF choice or a gamble.

I imagine Curbishley might have trouble finding the ground. Endless frustration as the GPS fails over and over to locate Burminem.

Charlie Nicholas of @SkySportsNews claims #avfc had deals in place for holtby, barry, lukaku and coutinho. Collapsed at board level! If true should the anger firmly be aimed at Randy?

That'll be one of Lambert's mates starting the excuses, as with Quitty Bloke before their pals rally round to make it seem they work under vile conditions....ones they agree to work under? Or surely as men of such honour they would walk away...

I am certain Lambert stated when he got the job that he wanted young and hungry players. He knew the deal. He chose to take the job when he could have stayed at Norwich. Ooh, it got tough, so I will blame other people!! Man up Paul, admit your failings. Resign.

True, but we were definitely linked with those players at one time or another. It doesn't take a genius to work out they would demand high wages - something we simply won't pay these days.

If that's true then the fact Nicholas knows is because Lambert has told him and the PR machine that is Faulkner won't stand for that.

Lambert will be gone as soon as the season is over. Worst Villa manager ever for me

This is probably the worst Villa team I've seen since I started watching us in '77. I know we went down in '87 but I still think this is worse (we had better players in '87 imo).
Lambert has been beyond a joke in these last 2 years.

I think there's a case for this being the worst "team" in that period, but I am not so sure we had better players in 1987.

i actually think the fact we have four or five more than decent players in the current squad makes the shitness of the team even less acceptable.

I can see Lambert getting the excuses ready. The fact of the matter is though, he's sending out a team of professional footballers and making them, more often than not, look like they've never seen a football in their lives. Our biggest failing isn't poor players. That doesn't help of course, but it is the fact that Lambert cannot organise them or get them playing in a cohesive system or a cohesive manner. How do you excuse the inability, on a consistent basis, to pass the ball 5 yards to a team mate? Or persistently throw the ball straight back to the opposition when we have a throw in? There's something about the players mentality that is making them make silly errors or look like they're playing with a hand grenade instead of a football. That comes from the management.

Poorer sides than us look more well organised. We've also been well beaten by a league 1 outfit and a League 2 outfit in Lamberts reign.

Clueless.

Lerner is culpable but I don't believe for a second that he spent all summer and January putting the kaybosh on every deal for a half decent player Lambert wanted. That's absolute bollocks, but I suspect Lambert and his cronies, at some point after their inevitable sacking, will peddle the myth as far as it'll go. Undoubtedly we haven't the budget for players of a certain level, but Lambert well knows this. He's not gonna actively pursue Gareth Barry for example, knowing full well that his wages are well beyond us.

Lerner will have to loosen the purse strings this summer. But there are no excuses as far as Lambert goes. Budget, injuries, whatever, we should not be as piss poor as we are. It's inexcusable.
