That's not me defending the Lambert or the performances, as they were shit, but we've been just as shit in cups under other managers as well

It's FAR from just in the cups though isn't it.

And I'm struggling to remember a Villa manager that was knocked out of 3/4 cup competitions by lower league opposition. And one of them was a 2 leg tie.

O'Leary was. You asked me that before.

And one of Lambert's defeats was a 2 leg tie, which was even worse than anything O'Leary served up.
For me one of the most humiliating results in our history.

And mine. But I still think Doncaster was worse.

Ron Saunders managed it three seasons in a row. Does that count?

No, because he won us a few trophies, turned us into the best team in the land and made us proud to be Villa fans in his time at the club. Lambert's done nothing but humiliate us in the 2 dreadful, painful, soul destroying seasons he's been here.

You have quite away with words. Have you ever thought of taking it up professionally?

Yes, perhaps then I could be like you and write a weekly blog where I talk about the ongoing woes at Villa Park without ever daring to criticise anyone in charge of the club.

I was thinking more along the lines of Victorian melodrama.

That was a one off game which was bad enough, but the Bradford tie was something else. We had to be an abomination over not one but two games which we duly obliged. That's why it's worse for me.

He's hardly learned a lesson though considering we were again knocked out of a Cup competition this season.

It'd be boring if we won every game though, wouldn't it?

Doncaster was worse, for me, because from first whistle to last we were outplayed all over the pitch and were lucky to get away with only 3-0. While we were defensively inept against Bradford, we could have scored half a dozen in both games. Did we even have 1 worthwhile chance against Doncaster?
Others will think differently, and are welcome to, after all, best/worst players, performances, results are all personal opinions and choices.
