I think todays result was because of 1 player, not Lambert.

What a depressing attitude to have. Praise should be given when it's due, as well as criticism.

Yesterday's result was because of 13 players, not Lambert. How can you not realise that?

He's just trying extra hard to find something wrong. A need to be contrary and controversial in a bid to be noticed. It's likely a remnant of a childhood devoid of attention and not getting enough of his mothers bussom.

In fairness, ChicagoLion was posting on March 3rd, so unless he's got amazing powers of vision, it's probably safe to assume he wasn't talking about yesterday's match.

I stand by my point based on his entire history when posting about Lambert.

Well, you were replying to someone who made a point specifically about yesterday's match, hence my pointing it out. Which I just noticed Dave had already done, but even so..

I am nothing like as down on Lambert as he is, but let's be honest, it's not as if there's been nothing to be down about. I don't see the point in resurrecting an argument with someone on a post made two weeks ago.

Yes, fine, which I am sure you'll also take up with Tom and PWS once you're done with me. Fair?

Yes, that's right, I'm picking on you specifically, rather than just replying to the last person to comment on the thread.

I think it is entirely fair to mention the confusion if you're going to say stuff like this about someone:

You could have made your point on a separate post as opposed to quoting me. The impression that is naturally created is that you've taken issue with my post and not about the general direction of the discussion. You've then gone and quoted something that I actually did write which confirms the view that you took issue with my post. It's all quite silly really so I'm done with talking about this.

Christ almighty.

The reason I quoted your post is it was the last post in the discussion. Like everyone else, when I post a reply to someone, I use the quote facility.

And yes, I did take issue with your post, because you had a go - in quite over the top terms, too - at a poster for not being happy with yesterday when it was referring to a match two weeks ago.

Yes, there were other people up the thread who also didn't realise that, but what do you want me to do? Specifically point those posters out as well? Quote a post on the previous page?

I replied to the last post in the thread. Which is what people tend to do.

If you makes you feel better about it, bad PWS and bad Tom, you too didn't spot the date of the post.

*shrugs*

I'm sitting in the corner thinking long and hard about what I've done.

I did spot the date. That's why I switched it to 13 players. So ner ner.

Is it too far gone for me to complain about the 2000 Cup final? Gregory should be sacked after that frightful display!

Gregory out!

There are decent players in several of Lambert's purchases. Leaving aside the obvious one, CB (and he wasn't as cheap as others), Bacuna, Westwood, KEA, Kozak have all proved they can play (yes I include KEA as he's been really good in the last two games). Having almost written off Bennett (and after Newcastle he deserved to be) he proved he can be a good player for us yesterday. Lowton was almost player of the season last season and will come good again I'm sure. Guzan we know about but tend to forget Lambert got him back in. That leaves Tonev, Sylla, Helenius, Bowery, (have I forgotten anybody?) as potential duds, although i'm sure there's a player in Tonev somewhere. I don't think we can complain considering the money he has spent on all that lot if they continue to gel.

You forgot Luna and Okore. There might be someone else as well.

yes, me too. I feel terrible for my sins and about what I wrote. I will refrain from using the word bussom from this point onwards.

Okore - yes - big omission. He could turn out to be an absolute star. Didn't he turn down Chelsea because he preferred to play in the team rather than sit on the bench? Bet he was watching yesterday and realised he made the right decision even if he has had to sit out the season. Thing is - would he get into the team on yesterday's evidence (only half joking).

He'll be an upgrade on Baker and Clark but both have improved as the season has gone on. Let's put it this way, it's an area that seemingly will be very competitive next season, and one we don't have consider investing in given our other priorities.

Think that this is more about long term plans rather than which players hit the ground running, so to speak.

Sometimes you get it all wrong.  Sometimes you think you are right.  Sometimes you can see the path. Sometimes it's all gold.    I think this is the way of PL.

Of course all the time we love Aston Villa.
