Alan 'Elbows' Shearer. Who did he kick in the head?

He kicked Ugo in the face giving him a double fracture of his eye socket.

With Lambert being tactically inept,  not knowing his best formation, having no plan b, any person coming in would instantly have a better idea on how to mould a team to give us at least a fighting chance of staying up.

We're doomed with him in charge.

What's Dave O Leary up to these days? He's beginning to look more and more like Pep Guardiola thanks to Lambert.

I think Lambert really has only one thing on his mind and that is to stay in favour with the owner and by doing so keep his job.   Everything else in Lambert's professional life - the team, the results, the league table, the standard of football, the feelings of the fans, the transfer dealings are a poor second on Lambert's list of priorities.

He has done the bidding of the owner since the day he arrived.   He has assumed, wrongly and potentially disastrously, that the owner actually knows a little bit about football when in reality he knows nothing.   Other owners know nothing about football but get by with people around them who do.   Lerner has Faulkner, perfectly described by Mazrim as a corporate bullshitter.   Thus when Lerner says "Paul can you keep us in the premiership with the players you have?" and Paul says "Yes", Lambert takes Lerner's acceptance as the owner agreeing with him and being supportive when in actual fact the acceptance of the assurance is meaningless because the owner has no way of knowing whether Lambert knows what he is talking about or not.

What the owner should be doing is asking a proven football figure "Can Paul Lambert keep us in the premiership with the players we have?"   It would not matter that Lerner knows nothing about football because he would have obtained trustworthy independent advice and act on that advice rather than the assurances of somebody simply coming out with what the boss wants to hear.

Paul Lambert has staked his football career on the single bet that Randy will not fire him because he has only been following orders.

If Lambert were a sharper tool in the box he would have kept in reserve the ability to challenge the owner.   We would have heard the odd remark about improved future expenditure and the acquisition of better quality players just to give himself an out and not be made the fall guy when the penny pinching leads to a downward spiral of diminishing returns.

By sucking up to Lerner and Faulkner Paul Lambert has sown the seeds of his own destruction.   They will out him without a moment's hesitation  if it is in their minds to do so.

When Laudrup was sacked they said he was a lazy fucker who never turned up and wasn't fully committed, same as Paul ince
If Lambett is in the same mould why would you want to replace him with the same

Maybe Lambert is following his leader all the way with it ending in 'constructive dismissal'. I hope the club don't cop for that again.

I know one thing no manager is safe, but the only way Lambert will be sacked is if he puts us in the bottom 3/4 or at the very least 1 point or so from safety

It could happen obviously, but if he picks up a few points and we stay away from the bottom 3 positions there is no way he will be sacked

So if you really want to see the back of Lambert you had better start hoping we lose games because a couple of wins will virtually guarantee his job next season
Just saying

Lambert's main objective now is his new contract, when he has that he's financially fireproof unless they include a clause that removes him from a big pay off if Villa are relegated.

But does Lerner/Faulkner have the nous???
