I would honestly prefer Hoddle to come in as manager. Say what you like, but he would have us playing football and with more balance than this buffoon.

Sorry DCF are you saying our singing Paul Lambert's claret and blue army at Norwich was indecent?   Your paragraph starts (I think) with reference to McLeish but ends with what happened at Norwich.
I was saying that the treatment that Alex McLeish got was disgraceful and unwarranted. Singing for Lambert was out of order, though, and totally embarrassing for all concerned. Very small time.

That singing was nowhere near as embarrassing as the spineless way McLeish used to set us up.

Those were some of the most embarrassed occasions I've had as a Villa fan, disgracefully negative.

At least Lambert wants to play attacking football but can't. McLeish didn't even want to. Hence the almost total lack of support for him on here.

I don't need the support of anyone to back me up. Where are all the 'we are 11th' and other statistics now?
Lambert is useless. That is the only statistic that matters.
I was asked a question about Lambert / Alex McLeish and answered it.  McLeish has gone. We now have to deal with the current incumbent.

Short term till the end of season with a big bonus to keep us up and then bring in koeman .
Time to be brave randy and fire lambert immediately.

Stay up or go down it's clear that Lambert is not the man for us and that's a pity.

No, the poster brought up singing about Lambert at Norwich. You brought up McLeish, no-one else did.

I am not disagreeing re Lambert, I was disagreeing re the point about you being embarassed by the treatment of McLeish by pointing out the other side of the argument.

As for you being asked about him, you were the one who raised him, you weren't asked.

The bloke was an absolute disgrace, the most depressing, negative manager I've seen at this club.

I don't give one tenth of one single toss that he came from Small Heath, there were a lot of us who, when he came, were highly unimpressed with his record, and were worried that he'd set us up in the same nauseating way he set Blues up.

We gave him a chance, though, so long as he didn't do the Blues thing with us, he deserved that. So what did he do? He did the Blues thing and started setting us up exactly the same way. The worst thing he could have done.

When I hear people go on about "its only because he came from Small Heath", it really, really fucks me off, because it means an awful lot of us getting lumped in with those morons who were daubing things on walls when he got the jog.

It's incredibly patronising to hear that rubbish.

It doesn't even stand up to examination. If he'd been a really good manager, wouldn't the fact we "stole" him from them have been a positive - ie the exact opposite?

Lambert is showing himself to not be up to the job but if you think it makes McLeish look any better than he was, by comparison, then you're in a minority of about three, and for good reason.

The major problem we have now is that we don't score anywhere near enough goals. We haven't scored for three games, that is fucking atrocious. We lost 1-0 today, that's not the fault of the defence it's reasonable to expect you're going to concede in away games. If you don't score goals you will lose the vast majority of games. Lambert saying we played well in the first half is worrying, because at the end of the day who cares? we lost the game. You can play brilliantly for 89 minutes but if you lose at the end of the day it doesn't matter.

Tipping to yes he should go. I have had enough at the moment. Somethings got to give. I fear it will be the division we are in. Time will tell and i got here before he turned it round last season so fingers crossed but our form and displays are fucking dire.
