Seven people don't want him sacked, if you are one of those why?  Not wanting an argument just wondering why?

I think sacking him now will just increase our chances of going down.

If we scrape survival again, then he should go in the summer.

It is quite clearly not good enough. Nothing like.
I know what you're saying but a new manager would be hard pushed to do any worse than Lambert.

I think its worth the risk.

I would sack him and we could do worse than look at Gary McAllister.

Where's all this revisionism about Gary McAllister come from all of a sudden?  This is the same Gary McAllister that won barely 1 in 4 as Cov manager and took over a Leeds team sitting in the play off places and failed to get them promoted two seasons running, before losing to a part-time, non-league team.

Appointing Gary McAllister would be a bigger balls up than appointing TSM was.

MaCallister may have been an interesting choice if Houllier had stayed on as director of football in 2011.  But going back wouldn't strike me as a wise move.

Mcallister has failed in management both times - definately not what we need .

How on earth this bloke keeps hold of his job amazes me. That today was fucking dreadful. I'm sorry to swear but it was, in equal measure, brainless, spineless and clueless. His tactics defy belief and we are stumbling towards relegation and only one person is to blame. In the words of his coach, it's time to Foxtrot Oscar I'm afraid.

And please please please let's not go down the road of "anyone could do better", because its inevitable we'll be in this situation again in a few months, and this time it will be relegation.

McAllister seems to get a bit of praise for our decent little run after GH fell ill but I also remember him putting Pires on at WBA when they were down to 10 men which killed all our attacking moves and we lost. He isn't the answer.

We should go abroad for our next appointment. It may not worked- but give me that over another bog standard british appointment who doesn't have a clue how to win home games.

Someone like Marcelo Bielsa would be a brilliant left field appointment that would get football talking and the Holte end excited again. I can but dream.

As I listen to GMac on BT Sport he makes plenty of scarcely veiled jibes at Villa and Villa players.   I think he has no empathy with the club whatsoever.   What is KMac doing?

I would've accepted McAllister in 2011, just due to the fact that he would've continued Houllier's vision and philosophy but that ship has subsequently sailed.

Sorry DCF are you saying our singing Paul Lambert's claret and blue army at Norwich was indecent?   Your paragraph starts (I think) with reference to McLeish but ends with what happened at Norwich.
I was saying that the treatment that Alex McLeish got was disgraceful and unwarranted. Singing for Lambert was out of order, though, and totally embarrassing for all concerned. Very small time.

The list of probably candidates is depressing. I don't trust Lerner and Faulkner enough to pull a rabbit out of the hat and make it work. FFS.

I agree - when oh when are they going to use a football person to help them. Ignorance and arrogance are poor bed fellows. Get some bloody help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That singing was nowhere near as embarrassing as the spineless way McLeish used to set us up.

Those were some of the most embarrassed occasions I've had as a Villa fan, disgracefully negative.

At least Lambert wants to play attacking football but can't. McLeish didn't even want to. Hence the almost total lack of support for him on here.

Come in Martin Laursen.

Yep, that's what we want in these difficult circumstances, someone who has never managed.

Just like Shearer worked for Newcastle.

I imagine the argument will be that he "loves the club" in which case, let's get Geezer Butler in as assistant.
