Keeping Lambert until the Summer would give us a chance to look around and maybe choose someone who wouldn't be a disaster. And yes I know, "Lerner and Faulker are the ones doing the looking, what chance have we got."  But I'd argue Mcleish is the only unequivocally shocking appointment that they've made.

We probably can't afford to sack him...

Better not 'constructively dismiss' him then as that is supposed to be very expensive. £9m we hear.

We probably can't afford to sack him...

If he can afford to let him spend £43m then he can afford to pay him off 18 months of his contract.

Sorry DCF are you saying our singing Paul Lambert's claret and blue army at Norwich was indecent?   Your paragraph starts (I think) with reference to McLeish but ends with what happened at Norwich.

In the magnificent history of Aston Villa Lambert will be remembered in the way that Graham Turner has been. A forgettable and in hindsight
mediocre appointment.

Seven people don't want him sacked, if you are one of those why?  Not wanting an argument just wondering why?

I think sacking him now will just increase our chances of going down.

If we scrape survival again, then he should go in the summer.

It is quite clearly not good enough. Nothing like.

These are my thoughts so I voted undecided. Wouldn't sack him now but may do at seasons end if we scrape up or go down. We need a strong finish to save him but I can't see it now.

Whether Randy fires him though is another matter as they seem fine with it all.

Also dread to think the quality we'd attract with Lerners penny pinching in place and he hiring skills of Faulkner running the show.

I am not one for a knee jerk reaction, but that second half was an absolute disgrace and reading his comments that he couldnt see either team scoring begs the question why did he not try and change things. Newcastle were awful and there for the taking. I would sack him and we could do worse than look at Gary McAllister.

This is the man for the job -
Quote from: walesonlines
Former Ajax and Benfica boss Ronald Koeman has hinted that he is interested in becoming Swansea City's next manager.

Reports emanating from the Netherlands over the weekend had suggested that the Dutchman had been in contact with the Welsh outfit over succeeding the recently departed Michael Laudrup.

Although the 50-year-old denies that there is an existing line of communication between him and City, Koeman - now at Feyenoord - admits he may be "ready" for the job should an offer materialise.

"I don't have any clarity that I will be a Premier League manager next season," he told De Telegraaf.

"These reports came out in a strange way. I agreed with my management that they will sort out which options I have. They just do their homework, that's all.

The results have been disastrous but on paper Lambert looked a good choice when he was appointed.  As most Villa fans at the time would have agreed.

In the magnificent history of Aston Villa i think  Lambert will be remembered alongside
his fellow countrymen,Docherty, McNeil and McLeish  as very poor managers

They are managerless - we aren't yet!
He is looking for a new challenge and we are a better attraction than Swansea.

The list of probably candidates is depressing. I don't trust Lerner and Faulkner enough to pull a rabbit out of the hat and make it work. FFS.
