Everton fans were delighted that Berkley started on Saturday because he is a good player, regardless of age. I also don't see how a team can kick him from minute one and not end up with two sent off.

Thing is though, Barkley already looks like a man, Grealish is still a boy. As someone else said above, he has a bit more growing to do. We have to be clever how we use him to grow his confidence.

That said, I'd be very intrigued to see how he does if he does start.

There's an unsubstantiated rumour that Grealish is going out on loan again.

That would be a good move for him if he was to get played every game. As it is, I think we need him at the moment.

If it was until January and he plays every game I'd be happy enough, provided he's involved in our team after that.

Evening Mail suggests we're knocking it back, which may mean we'll see him play some part at Loftus Road.

As long as he's playing I'm happy.

We can't afford to let any more players out on loan any way. We're getting dangerously close to running on a skeleton crew with all these injuries racking up. You just know that Vlaar is a tread on the wrong blade of grass away from another layoff. And Joe Cole could put himself out of action for 6 months with a robust sneeze.
We're gonna need Grealish.

Would we notice Cole being out for 6 months?  It doesn't look like he's getting anywhere near the first 11, even if N'Zog is contributing as much to the side as the Tory government is to reducing the national debt.

Cole appeared briefly for 10 minutes but at that point we barely looked interested in trying to get the ball off Everton. He did as much as Zogbia in that 10 minutes to be fair to him.
And no, we probably wouldn't notice if he disappeared for 6 months.

I would loan Cole out to Paderborn. I watched them play Frankfurt and run them ragged. Their most expensive player cost 350k (euros) They were all built like Teutonic Fabian Delphs and their work rate was mind blowing. The players all live in accommodation provided at the ground and their team spirit is palpable and unshakeable. They are living proof that you can get quality football with modest resources. That is the sort if place to send players on loan.

Don't want to start a thread within a thread but reading all this about lambert etc and from a previous page about how we can't seem to capitilise on our starts arse away 1-3 liverpool away this season 0-1.
Well don't this just sum up this wonderful club of ours.
I was there the night we put paid to the team of charlton best law etc in 1970 and should of brought the league cup home in 1970 and after that ???
The wonderful free flowing team of gray little deehan etc should of won the league before 80/81.
The saunders era should of ruled england and Europe for many years but didn't.
If only sir graham had stayed
The big fat ron team that pushed manure all the way.
Brian littles team after that and john Gregory's team that was how many points clear at one stage.
It's probably a villa thing I honestly can't think of a team that has threatened like we have over the decades honestly I can't but just can't seem to capitalise on what we have.

Villa till I die

There are a lot of what ifs, but maybe every club has that.

I remember how we used to be unfavourably compared to Leeds after be whacked them in the League Cup final. People would talk about how they'd pushed on and we hadn't. Funny how things work out.
