who was the fan that went up to Lambert at 3-2  and he shoved him back in his seat .

Didn't see this at the time but noticed it on highlights. What the fuck went on there?

I saw it as a fairly gentle push back into the seats. Almost 'come on mate you're not meant to be out here'. Plus he probably spends most of the season hearing a lot of grumbling from the trinity. Those guys like to grumble!

Only saw the highlights. We did seem to play pretty long ball again, but there was plenty of movement in and around benteke. He looks like he's getting back to his best though his finishing and touch can still improve. I heard Weimann did really well - great to see him back. If we can get gabby fit I really back us to beat Everton

Really frustrating to see villa make the same mistakes at the back again. We concede, and then completely switch off and concede a second within two minutes. It seems to particularly be a problem in the first half in front of the Holte end!!

Didn't see any massive howlers from Lowton. But agree Bertrand and Delph looks much stronger down the left side at the moment.

0-2 down in 6 minutes is inexcusable, especially to the Throstles.  Low ton did OK I thought, he and Vlaar at fault for the first.  El Ahmadi however is not a footballer, he ran around a lot, put a few tackles in and ran around some more, made some horrendous errors and most people around me were glad to see the back of him.

Battenburg did OK I thought, no doubt whatsoever about the headlock on Benteke for the penalty and special mention to Lowton for a crunching tackle on their no7 in our right back position that eventually led to Delphs strike.

We are better than we were, but not as good as we need to be.

He ran on to celebrate with Lambert, then Lambert just sort of edged him back to where he came from. Nothing in it at all.

Mark Clattenberg had a very good game last night. Every time their was an incident he was right on top of it. I was impressed.

Great result. That was the entertainment people were hoping for before the season I guess. There's a feeling of wrongs righted this morning. Let's push on and look upwards instead of downwards and let's watch them drop like a stone.

Oh and how devastated must they be to have tossed away two 2-0 head starts against us, lovely stuff.

We won which is great. It was a bonkers game to watch. I don't think I've ever witnessed such a crazy game at VP. We needed that result. The goals were well taken (even if it did come off bacuna's face).

But my god we so bad at keeping possession. It's the basic stuff. We just can not close a game out properly. El Ahmadi was so, so poor. Losing the ball and running into players all he time. I just didn't feel safe of the win until the final whistle went. With the two big guys up front why is it so impossible to hold onto the football for any longer than 5 seconds.

I'll enjoy the result. But it doesn't change how bad a footballing team on the whole we seem to be.

Gutted before the match that I was having to miss it, even more gutted after I'd watched MOTD and seen what a rollercoaster ride it was. Cracker from Delph, The Beast is back, the world always feels like a wonderful place the day after beating the Albion.

When it was 2-2 so early in the game I told my twelve year old son that when I was his age we were drawing 3-3 at half time against Albion and then got a second half winner at the Holte End. Bertrand looked class,, Weimann and Benteke have a spring in their step again after their recent goals and I though the man of the match was Bacuna. Also, as scrappy as his finish was the build up to that goal was quality.

As much as last nights win thrilled me, after the first ten minutes we were two-nil down at home. At that point how many goals, if asked, would you have suggested we needed to score to win the game?
I'd have said four or five.

Obviously we did actually do what was needed. But we are so bloody kamikaze at the back. Gave ourselves a mountain to climb.

A bad miss and a Clark stupid tug in the box could have lost us that one.

Perhaps I'm harsh on Lambert - wonder what difference Okore back, Bertrand and hopefully a midfielder will make to this team - we might actually be half decent
