Great comeback and fantastic to get the win. Benteke getting back to somewhere near the form of last season. Vlaar and Clark both solid at the back, Bertrand looks good, comfortable on the ball and offered options going forward particularly in the first half. Didn't think Lowton was as bad as a lot of people have been making out. Didn't even realise KEA was on the pitch until about 30mins in, thought he was woeful and was pleased to see him replaced by Sylla who turned out to be just as poor, unable to do the simple things and looks a shadow of the player he was last season.                                  An honourable mention to the ball boy who was time wasting in the corner of the North and Trinity Rd stands!! All in all a very enjoyable game and even more so as I went on a free ticket. UTV

As for West Brom's premature chant when it was 0-2 early on, yes Albion..."We know what you are!!"
And how small time is that - being pride of the midlands means mostly nothing to us but is a big deal for them.

And then promptly seemed to suffer from mass amnesia as they all appeared to forget the words for the last 80 minutes.

You need to feel for them Charlie.
They've just lost their Champions' League Final! ;-)
UTV!

2 cup finals, 5 goals and 0 wins. My heart breaks for them.

Just back from the game -Phew!

Positives

1.  Three massive points and even better against the Olbion
2.   We had the resolve to come back and always looked like getting back in a game we would have lost last year
3.  Bertrand looks absolute quality. Sooooooo comfortable on the ball, defends intelligently and good going forward. Delph, Vlaar and Weimann's also had games
4.  Holt showed some badly needed experience and nous - sadly lacking in one or two others

"Constructive Criticism"

1.   Despite the result we still don't have a progressing style of football
2.   Why or why do we manage to give the ball away so many times when under no pressure
3.   We are not strong enough. Too many 50/50 challenges lost/bottled
4.   Some sloppy defending AGAIN for all three goals

Overall though great result, well worth the journey and I feel that we can more than get something at Everton

PS will be interested to see the Foster challenge on Benteke. If the was contact then surely as with Suarez it's a penalty?

Even from the North, Foster did look like he tackled and won the ball from Benteke.

However, had the ball crossed the line from Bacuna's shot before CB made sure.

Foster got enough of the ball that in no way was it a penalty.  Benteke was a bee's dick away from taking it past him though.

not read the thread yet

what a crazy game

negatives first - defence . Lowton probably the main culprit

positives - Weimann looked better  , CB is getting there , Delph what a goal and Gabby wasnt playing neither.

Big big win , gets us a way from that bottom 3 , puts the twats right in it and hopefully give everyone confidence

If we could get a top No 10 and a top defensive midfielder we could start to have a decent team , as not convinced with KEA , Sylla and Westwood still , even thou Westwood could still come good.

anyway on a night like tonight . Who cares .   3 massive points  for Villa  and Im going to enjoy the *home win* and four goals .

Woke up at 5.40am and checked my phone expecting to see the half-time score.  A bit muddled when I saw 4-3 and FT - 8 hours time difference and mathematics is clearly not my strong point.  I can only assume that the sound of the FT whistle and resulting roar made it all the way to Singapore.

Breakfast has rarely tasted so good.

Culverhouse disguised as  fan from the 50's with flat cap. He was going to launch a tirade against the moaning fuckers behind the technical areas calling them fucking morons but PL told the radge to get tae fuck.

Didn't like the baker on sub, we aren't good enough to sit back...

I would have brought albrighton in, however we needed amother midfielder on in my opinion as thor appeared no midfield from either team.... Bench just didn't have the options!

It completely nullified them though after they had brought their attacking subs on. I think Lambert got the subs spot on. Am I also the only one who likes Westwood?

I didn't feel the sub nullified the baggies.... I thought they were going to score any minute for last 20 minutes.

I like Westwood delph and kea, just didn't think either midfield dominated, in fact at time it was like a basketball game with the midfield being bypassed!
