Well, that's more like the last few months of last season that I wanted to see. Goals and entertainment.

Defensively we were poor and attacking we looked like we could score every time we went forward (especially first half).

We stopped attacking after the pen, which in my mind was wrong and a little more support for Holt and Benteke and we could've scored a 5th. Instead the midfielders didn't push on and we invited them on us.

Special mentions for Weimann, Vlaar and Bertrand who had good games.

I want to see more of this. Play to the, you score 3, we'll score 4 technique! Much more entertaining!

Did it kick off in the ground?

It did outside, twice. A bit of handbags by the North Stand then apparently a serious, come to blows, one by the church.

Probably upset by getting beat by the real pride of the Midlands

We need to wear nor claim such label. It is a given fact most of the time. Leave the Luddites and the Bitters to claim the title one year or 2 every 3 decades

Before or after?

Before.

Well you can't sayit was boring.

Both defences shocking in the first half, we didn't half lack width at times. I used to quite rate that Olsson, I seem to be horribly wrong, he was woeful.

Good win but the subs highlighted our squads weakness, and I'm really not sure about the tactics for the last 20mins, sure we didn't concede but giving up so much territory made me very nervous, good job they were shite.

Great win but I still hope 2/3 new players arrive this week.

My old lad hated the Albion with a passion too, mainly stemming from when they put the final nail in the coffin that relegated us in 1959 but, when it come to SHA he detested them.  I said before that we lived in Sheldon so we went to watch them when we couldn't afford to travel away with the Villa.

He always insisted we stand in amongst them when all the sillies stood on the Tilton and continually took the piss out of them calling them all the one-eyed bastards under the sun and not hiding his support for whoever the opposition was.  This continued throughout the game.  Now my old man was a non-violent person and was also a little bloke but, I swear to God he was prepared to take every single last one of them on, I'm convinced that was what he wanted.  The times I had to calm him down.

He never explained just why he hated them so much but believe me he hated them.

Just got back from the local, just got my breath back.
Me and an Albion mate sat and watched the game together.
Great local derby, shite football, 2 great goals from Brunt and Delph and end to end.
Bloody hell, thank fuck for the three points. Magic.

Another telling stat is that from tenth down only two teams have scored more goals than us Albion and Swansea). Also, from 10th down only two sides have conceded less than us (Hull and, surprisingly, Crystal Palace). But more importantly, from tenth downwards no-one has got more points than us. Right, *looks upwards and rubs hands* let's get Southampton.

I thought that was Weimann's best performance for us tonight. If he played like that every game, he would be some player.

Well it was a crap night weather wise walking up to VP. Got delayed parking up and arrived in  my seat at 10 mins gone. So 4-1 for me! We are unplayable when we have to take do or die style. That's how it was towards the end of last season and that's what happened at 2-0 down. Play like that in every game Villa.

It was really nice to have entertainment at Villa Park. For all the defensive errors it was an unbelievable game to watch. Oh and I cannot stand Jonas Olsson.

Talking about defensive errors what the hell are Villa doing for Regis's goal in 1983?! Ridiculous.

I chose not to watch the game as the last darts night that fell when Villa were playing I was at club for the first half. Got all the score updates as Tottenham - Man City was on. Plus there were enough people around giving me immediate updates when the Albion scored. Anyway, left at half-time and got home, flicked over and it was 4-3. Missus in double-take as I said, "no, turn it over". As I hadn't watched ant of it I didn't want to jinx us. two darts games, two Villa wins. For 7 Against 5. Come on.

Oh, and the full game is on again at midnight my time. (In 10 mins)
