They had a number of those cheap, framed, "footy bantz" things above the bar. The kind you pick up at the pound shop.

A cartoon cherub pissing on a Villa shirt. A medley in homage to such luminaries as Tait and Devlin.  That sort of thing.

Sorry, I was on about the Old Bill and Bull. I took a while before hitting "reply" as I got distracted by dinner. I've been the Marston Green Tavern a couple of times and failed to notice the Blose memorabilia. I think I was in there wearing a Villa shirt after an away game, back in the days when I still considered a football shirt to be acceptable apparel, and never had any grief off anyone.

The Bill and Bull has only been in existence from the mid to late 80's. It looks like a much older pub but it's only the facade that's old.  Don't  know what it was before.  Tried to find out and picked this up from the 'beer in the evening web site'

"went into this pub with my cousin for the first time. had one bloke staring me out sitting in the front bar for ages, had a drunken woman fall across my lap screamin her head off, went to the gents and there was a guy who had been snorting cocaine in the cubicle being dragged out by his hair and shouted at. bar staff very good despite all this. angie babs is right. why would i want to drink in this atmos? all you people saying its a great pub............you need a brain transplant!"

I'm pretty sure it used to be a police station, hence the name. I'd guess those asserting that it's "a great pub" would be those sad inbred twats who like to gather there at 3pm every Saturday when Blose are playing, to obsess about how Villa are getting on.

Yeah you're probably right.  It wasn't a police station for some time before it became a pub either.

The "Bull" bit of the name comes from a pub called that, it sat on what is now the City bound carriageway and bit the dust when the road was widened.

Been pas the Ivy Bush so many times on the Bus but never been in it.

A SHA pub, really?

It’s not. It’s got a Villa badge in a window the other side of the pub.

Drank in the Ivy Bush many times as a youth and never noticed either badge. It's not a Villa or a Blose pub. It's just a pub.

Yeah so did I (though I wouldn’t drink there now). You’re right, it’s neither Villa or Small Heath.

The Old Bill and Bull was a police station - it even says 'Police Station' over the main entrance!

They've certainly won the sticking stickers in bogs battle. That'll show us.

How are you getting here? If by car go to the Bartons. If by coach, I'd suggest giving a curry pub in West Brom such as the Vine a ring and ask if they'll take you. If by train, wander round town and see where you fancy.
