Arsenal away has been moved to Sunday 1st February at 1:30 and will be shown on sky.

That one isn't too bad as it is easy enough to get to London from Birmingham or most other places.  Could be an interesting game too if Arsenal in flattering to deceive mode, and we are in a dog fight which of course right now is looking likely.

Worry about Sunday night games, I heard a whisper out here in the desert, that the Middle East contributors are pushing for a Friday night prem game (their weekend being Friday and Saturday), if they are to continue loading Sky with their riyals and other assorted sheckles.
So that would be Friday night, Saturday here already 3 games, in fact last weekend all Prem games that kicked off at 15.00hrs were shown live, Sunday lunch, Sunday afternoon and then Monday night,
Carry on like that and they will have to increase the number of teams in the prem.

There's been talk of a Sunday evening game as well.

I can't think of anything that would persuade me to go to a match on a Sunday night. Well football related anyway!

Pretty sure there was some anti TV chants a while back but they just turned the mics down so the people watching couldn't hear.

United FC used to have that song that went "I am a Mancunian, I am an FC fan,........I want to destroy, Glaser and Sky"  to the tune of Pretty Vacant

Are you sure it wasn't to the tune of Anarchy in the UK Pat?

Virgin have complained to OFCOM about the way TV rights are distributed by the Premier League, and in particular that the number of live games available is far lower than elsewhere in Europe.

F@ck right off.

Every PL game will be live on TV in a few years time, it's going to happen and there is bugger all we can do about it.

You're wrong.

We can get relegated - that'll show them all.

We may get those Friday games and more staggered kick-off times:-

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2839214/End-Premier-League-rip-Watchdog-launches-probe-600-year-cost-watching-flight-football-matches.html

Eventually they'll just play in virtual stadiums with CGI crowds so that
they can play live at a time that suits the Far East, Indian and Middle Eastern 'customer' fans.
After all, they don't care about those us with season tickets.

Virgin complained that only 42% of games shown live which is too low. I think from 2017 we will have Friday nights and Sunday nights added to the schedule . I am almost done with this BS

I argued on another thread that the current fan is going to become so irrelevant.  The revenue from TV and other incomes such as sponsorship will make the gate money insignificant.  However to have a team (i.e. brand) that the TV companies want to broadcast they'll need a full stadium/atmosphere.  As a consequence clubs will have to start pandering to fans to produce the 'show' TV demands.  The easiest way to do that is cheaper or free tickets.

It's a similar model to all the free newspapers which are handed out.  Give enough newspapers away and the circulation becomes enough to convince companies to pay more for the advertising space.  This extra income covers the cost of the lost revenue from physically selling the papers.

What I've not worked out is whether this is a good or a bad thing for the average match attending fan.

Match going fans are pretty insignificant financially to clubs to now. Imagine you go to most games a season, and spend say £2,000 a year doing so. Do that for 50 years. Congrats, you haven't even spent enough over those 50 years to keep Darren Bent on the bench for 2 weeks.

I imagine one day it will be cheaper to go to games than to stay at home and watch them on TV
